Well last week was a total bust, obviously, although the conditions were much better generally on Saturday (I drove right down the M62 about 7am & it was totally fine), the wise decisions were taken early (mostly) to postpone the fixtures and let everyone just get on with their weekends. Seemed inevitable that pitches & travel wouldn't make for a pleasant experience all round.

Let's see what week 22 has in store...

BPark vs Wirral is a tasty local derby to kick things off. Looks like an away win but who wants to predict a derby result? Home win wouldn't be a huge surprise

Ilkley vs Hull sees the front seat candidates for 2nd visit a hit & miss Ilkley side who are doing good business in the middle tier of the league. Should be a good game but I can only see an away win

Kendal vs Sandal is another toughie. Sandal need the points to put relegation fears to bed, Kendal are stranded in midtable and probably perfectly happy with that! Sandal draw level with a 0-5 win, that might be just the catalyst needed

KLon vs Bill is a game I would love to watch. Think KLon will be well up for this and will fancy trying to bully Bill. Bill will want to spray it around as much as possible, so surface might decide the winner. Either a close home win or a big away win for me

Pock vs Lymm should see Lymm eek out maximum points, they don't let many over so I think it will be 20 odd to Lymm & 10 or so to Pock

PGH vs Gate is the big one & would be a lot more interesting if there wasn't a 15pt gap between 1st & 2nd. If Gate can somehow engineer a 0-5 then 10pts might start to look a little slender. Big ask but Gate capable.

Dale vs Morley could be a real grueller. I think the fundamental issue here is that I can't see Dale not scoring 4 tries at home, whereas Morley have only scored 4 tries once in 20 games, so unless its kick o'clock, it's a Dale win for me

This week's UNBANKABLE is a tricky one, but I'm going for Pocklington vs Lymm

Birkenhead Park vs Wirral
Ilkley vs Hull
Kendal vs Sandal
Kirkby Lonsdale vs Billingham
Pocklington vs Lymm
Preston Grasshoppers vs Harrogate
Rossendale vs Morley

Good Luck!

Hoppers 24 (5) Harrogate 17 (1)

Two tries in last 3 mins gives Gate a LBP. Could be crucial for them.

Hoppers TBP in the bag after 50 mins.

A proper arm wrestle at Stacks Field between two well matched sides on a heavy wet surface. Honours shared at the end was a fitting climax to an absorbing game which neither side deserved to lose and both sides had chances to win it. Rugby was the winner!!
