Well done to Lymm. They definitely deserved the win and are one of the form teams in the league.
Maybe because they have come back from injuries and unavailability.
Sandal"s normal backline would have been
Bedford       Pease
Frewin Allott Moffatt Newman
          Ellar
Yesterday it was
Ellar      Pease
Chittaboro Orr Martin Cartwright
             Coad
We lost Bedford to England Counties, Moffatt has joined London Scottish, Frewin working,Newman and Allott injured.
Without paying this is the problem Sandal may have if they get promoted.
"c'est la vie"
Thats life but I would'nt like the lads to do what Stockport have endured this year. A top club in Nat 3 last year and struggling a lot in Nat2 this year.

Having been there recently Tulip, in my opinion and mine only, if Sandal go up and don't pay, it will be a very long hard season.
You say Sandal had many issues with selection (which every club in the league has had this year) National 2 is a lot more physical and injuries come more often, thus needing strength in dept, and having 5 subs each week takes its toll on the 2nd team. If you pick up these injuries 80 minutes will seem a long time in Nat 2 against teams paying up to 6 figure playing budgets ............. We know !!! It was a painful season last year, this year has been much more enjoyable for everyone including the lads.
At the end of the day ........ rugby was the winner !

If sandal could get the two forwards back from Huddersfield they would survive at Nat 2. Keeping their best xv for ever game would be the issue

This is the issue Jackal, why would they come back if they are not being paid ? I think any of the top 4 in national 3 could survive in the league above and finish mid table. However it would depend on Lady Luck and injuries to key players. That's why you would need to put your hand in your pocket to bring in 3 / 4 players so you have the strength in depth. Then you face the issue of annoying the lads who have got you promoted by doing that, pay 1 you have to pay them all ! It's not a nice dilemma to have, and difficult to manage, but if you go up and keep a fit squad of 20, then Sandal would be fine. It's that keeping fit bit that is the pain, and if you pick up some casualties ....... Which you will, it can be a long long season.

You cannot however discourage the players to push for promotion and Sandal have done a great job this season. Let's see what the last 3 / 4 games bring, it's been a great season so far I think, with everyone being able to beat anyone on there day.
At the end of the day ........ rugby was the winner !

Fantastic defence from Lymm , I just wish we played like that from week 1! From what I saw yesterday though, I think Sandal could have won if the scrum half who came on in the 2nd half had started. It was a bitter sweet win for Lymm because I think we'd all like to see a club like Sandal win the league.

Tiger Dome. Yesterday Tigers were brilliant (apart from the scrums ;-)   )Think they are determined to get promotion and good luck in the run in. A couple of points I have are, you talk about strength in depth and paying players. Do players who get paid, play for the second team when not selected or dropped? I only ask because you talk about strength in depth. Now you 1st team gave YM a tough day and obviously won 39 - 0, but your 2nd team lost 54 - 26 and we had to lend players to you. Seems a bit odd that your 2nd team are suffering week in week out but your 1sts are steam rolling to promotion. Seems like a huge gap.

Cracking game at 'Loo against Wirral ... both sides contributed to a highly entertaining spectacle on the pitch with the lead changing hands several times and the result in doubt right up to the final whistle. Great hospitality by the Club prior to the game and a fantastic crowd.
The advantage law is the best law in rugby, because it lets you ignore all the others for the good of the game.
