(Thought I'd seen references on another thread, but here's a dedicated new one...)

Sat 03 Aug(?): unknown

Fri 10 Aug: PARFC v Bedford Blues (KO: tba - eve?)

Sat 17 Aug(?): unknown

Sat 25 Aug: PARFC v Cornish Pirates (KO: 14.00) NB: Bank Hol w/end.

First run-out against a Champ side would be a tough ask, so I would assume we will have a local fixture for early Aug and then again two weeks later.
Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

Any pre season against higher opposition is better than lower opposition - the draft fixtures are already with your club secretary - ask him
If you're not on the pitch you can't win the game

"Exeter Uni 18th Aug @3.00 pm"

Bit of an odd one. Is a uni side actually functional at that time of year? And is the quality of player likely to provide the right kind of test for a Nat 1 PSF? And hardly likely to pull in the punters. Interesting to see if there is any charge on the day for that "game"...

[QUOTE=Rabbie Burns]Blackheath
Friday 10th Aug v Richmond at RAG 7pm

Rabbie just returned from Richmond AGM
I am told it is 7.30
But more importantly it is only the 1st teams
Apparently BH are not running a 2nd team
If true please confirm

Hi member, it is just first teams, as mentioned in another post we are not planning for a second team next year but this will depend on the influx of numbers over preseason and the quality of said players and as Richmond 2s are one of the best (if not the best) I doubt if a scratch team would be suitable competition.

EURFC pre-season starts August 1st.

Well, they play week in week out at level 5, have just won BUCS Super Rugby for 2017-18, and have a fistful of England Students so the chances of this actually being a banana skin for a Nat 1 PSF are IMO reasonably good. All in all 3 fixtures, 2 against sides 1 level up and 1 against a side 2 levels down looks about right for a fixture list. Two to test you and one you *should* win to try out the options...

I'm slightly biased because it's my old university...

Mose so far have got Carmarthen Quins and Cov (both home).

As said in the post above, I don't believe that's true. I think in an ideal world you want both.

I believe the Cov game is being played at the Butts Park Arena. If enough of us go over there we can make it look like a home game.......Smile

Game against Cov is at BPA, with reciprocal friendly at Billesley in the 2019/2020 season.

We also have the possibility of one more home friendly, which may be confirmed at Monday night's AGM.

Thanks for the background, BE. I'm not writing it off, but a local club would probably bring in more support to put the caterers/bar staff through their pre-season and keep the Accounts Dept happy. And a "3 for 2" offer would shut me up...

I actually forgot to add that they have *very* strong links with Chiefs if you’re looking for how this has come about.... IIC quite a few of them have played for Exeter A.

Coventry were due to be playing Bishop's Stortford on August 7th at Bishop's Stortford. Due to concerns over the pitch, this has been moved to Friday August 10th, at Cheshunt RFC.

As Coventry are playing Moseley on Saturday August 11th, the B.S. game will now be largely for Coventry's development squad.

It must be frustrating for the Roth faithful not to have a home pre-season game - if only the cricket club would move Wink
