There is speculation that the GP clubs will move this years London double header to Wembley. This follows on from recent games at Twickenham, where the attendences have been substantially higher than for a 'normal' fixture.

Rugby League have recently taken this one step further by having all their clubs play in the 'Millenium Magic' event at Cardiff.

This set me thinking, would this league benefit from having a series of 'double headers' on neutral venues between local clubs.

For example, Cornish Pirates, Cornish All Blacks, Exeter and Plymouth could play at Home Park.

Off course, two sides would have to give up home advantage and the revenue obtained from that, but if marketed right, crowds would be higher and the revenue share back to the clubs would be higher.

What do you think?

Good idea actually although the transport system getting in and out of Plymouth, especially from the county is pretty crap.

Have a 2.30 start with Lanson/Pirates first and Albion/Exe to follow with a 20 all inclusive ticket to see both games. Fine by me. Will be tanked to the eyeballs by about 4 tho!

Richard,

Argyle were sounde out once avout the use of Home Park, apart from wanting 75,000 rent, us to pay for trhe mandatory extra policing, ambulances etc all part of their insuramce requirements, they drew the line at bars and insisted the pasties were ginsters and thart (the pasties) is the perfect reason never to go to Home Park.

I think it is quite a good idea, but in reality will never ever happen!

Have to agree with Crowlas, Noisy and Jim. Sandy Park for the Chiefs, Brickfields for Albion and Recreation Ground (although i wish we were back at the Mennaye) for the Pirates.
