Quality player Fergus. Good signing for Sale FC. Wonder if brother Charlie may follow him?

Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signings of Joe Lane and Ben Dixon ahead of the 2019/20 National One season. The pair become the club’s first new signings of the summer, adding to the wealth of re-signings already confirmed. Both players will soon join up for the club’s pre-season training camp starting next month.

Joe didn't get much of a look in tbf. Listed in the Dev Academy as a centre, played at FB for S. Leicester on loan. Made one replacement appearance for Cov, and turned out for Leicester Tigers 'A'.
Promising young man, but too many in front of him, so probably a good move for him and Mowden.

Sale FC have signed one of the best No. 8's in the Championship from Blues.  He left us for family reasons and has been one of our best players.  I would expect Williams to do a lot of damage assuming he stays keeps his fitness.

I do wish the Sale editorial team could spell:

"...a powerful centre looking to compliment our other new signing Fergus Mulchrone..."

Thanks for the information – I hope you're right for both Mowden and Joe Lane.

Darlington Mowden Park can confirm that Jordon Poole, Matt Heaton and Jake Brady will leave the club prior to the 2019/20 National One season.

Hooker Jordon Poole will leave the club having signed for Gallagher Premiership side Exeter Chiefs. Poole has made 38 appearances in 2 standout seasons for Mowden, since his arrival from Championship side Yorkshire Carnegie in 2017, scoring 4 tries.

Openside Matt Heaton will leave the club after 3 stellar seasons as he focusses on Canada’s upcoming Rugby World Cup campaign in Japan. Signed from Otley prior to the 16/17 season, he has scored 7 tries in 59 appearances and has captained the 1st XV throughout this season.

Second row Jake Brady has decided to move on this summer, after making 52 National One appearances in 2 seasons at the club. Signed from National 2 North side Harrogate in 2017, Brady has been ever-present in the 2nd row alongside Joe Craggs and Talite Vaioleti, scoring 4 tries in his time with the club.

Mowden Park Director of Rugby commented: “We’re sorry to see the three lads leave. All of them have been a big influence on the squad and the club as a whole and I’d like to thank them for their outstanding contributions over recent seasons. We wish them all the very best in the future.”

Now I know this might only be a rumour, but I've heard that Sir Ian McGeechan would be willing to come to help out at Rotherham Titans, as long as the Titans could give him a budget of £15,000,000 to bring in 32 new players from New Zealand.

At that budget they won't be top NZ players, however would probably be good enough for the championship

Probably better to go for Nigel Wray. He could get the 32 Kiwis in and still have change from ten grand. Allegedly.

I may be wrong, but are you lads taking my Post seriously.  Its a micky take on the Leeds Board, lashing out lots of money they didn't have and bringing in those 7 New Zealanders.

Not taking it seriously at all just saying it before it grows legs and runs. Although it seems to be a tried method as London Irish appear to be signing the whole of the Aussie national side. Makes you wonder why they bother with an academy.

Is having an Academy side not just a money earner, using the best and most promising players from surrounding clubs in the locale, who maybe only get half a dozen games a season thereby ruining their future playing careers and all just to be associated with a Premiership club.

Or is that me just being cynical, bitter and twisted.

Would be a great acquisition if they can get hold of swatkins. Heard he had retired after a terrible head injury half way through the season. I’m sure tigerdome could elaborate further!
