Hull 29 - Pocklington 7 ! HT

Watching it on Estuary TV ! I’m watching it on Utube but it’s also on freeview (think it’s channel 7)

The full game is on Utube for anyone interested in watching it - Estuary TV did a really good job of covering it.

Hard fought local derby at Hull this afternoon in front of a good crowd full of Christmas cheer. Hull had scored 4 tries before half time, two going to top scorer Steve Hihetah whilst Pocklington replied with a converted try of their own. As the temperature dropped so did the standard of flowing rugby in the 2nd half although at time the temperature between the packs rose!! Hull scored three more tries to another one from the visitors with the final score Hull 41 Pocklington 12. Another strong display by the home team but credit must go to Pocklington who never gave up trying with their forwards always willing to put in some hard work. Both teams can now take a short rest over the festive break before the next round of games early in the New Year.
A very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all who post and/or read on the rolling Maul Forum 🍺🍺

Puli,
Steve Hihetah scored 3 tries in the first half and is now on 27 for the season, beating Danny Smith's 26
in season 2005-26.  Must agree that Pock played very well, especially after HT.

Pock needed a big game after last week, and after the first twenty minutes they found it. As has been said above, another big shift from the pack, and the new no 10 looked good as well. Hull's backs showed a lot of gas and some slick passing, along with some woeful 'tackling' from the visitors, allowed them to score some fine tries. Thought the last score was a bit of a kick in the teeth for Pock, but that's rugby!
