I have repeatedly said 'sponsors' not 'sponsor', one of which did in fact make the initial approach to us. You can deny this all you like but that is the truth.
Have you ever thought that your good friend may be fed up with throwing good money at bad?

 Far from it.
He has dedicated his support for the foreseeable future which is good enough for me.
I cannot speak for individual sponsors obviously, I do not personally know all of them.
Some of our sponsors also sponsor your own club as you will know. But not the main one,
who is the only one that your club are really interested in. And I know him very well.

Yogi,
I think you are well aware that the talks involve your two main sponsors and I don't have to say which one initially approached us.

I would not question your comments with regard to your friendship but, I am not sure if you are fully aware of your friends intentions.

Thank you CH but we are not quite in the play-offs mathematically.
If we beat Kirkby Lonsdale this coming Saturday we will finish second.
If we lose our two remaining games and Harrogate win their last three
with maximum points they will finish second.
But it is looking good for us I must admit.

As could Lymm if Harrogate didn’t take full points from their last 3 and Lymm did, if my math serves me correct. Good luck to all though

  SilverFox1,
You are quite right, I had not even looked at Lymm's chances to be truthful.
They are one of only three sides to beat us this season and they did us a massive
favour yesterday at Harrogate.  They are a very good side who were in second
place for a long time during this season. Good luck to them.

As the football pundits often say on TV, "The playoff position is Hulls to lose" ... It could be all over with a win this Saturday at home, which would be fitting as it is the occasion of the Past Players annual lunch, or it could go down to the wire with the last game of the season. And some say there should be no promotion/relegation ...... That would make the end of season games a complete let down.

If Ionians come down and Hull go up and you guys decide to merge. What would happen then ?
A play off between 3rd placed teams. And then maybe Morley might be reprieved

After Saturday's win against Plymouth Albion I think Ionians are safe and will be playing in N1 again next season,

If only...

This was the reason I tried to get more information on the Hull/Hull Ionians potential merger a short while ago.

I think the last time this happened followed the demise of Rugby Lions and their Walter Mitty owner.

At that time the knock on effect was determined by level rather than league.

So the team with the best playing record in the 4 leagues at level 5 would get saved.

This certainly isn't Morley!

Hopefully you are correct but I think you may a bit premature in saying we are 'safe'.

There is another thread on the forum entitled 'The Dragon and the Phoenix'. I thought news had broken regarding a certain Welsh Dragon and Donny Phoenix but not so.
