The above is the Redruth situation as of yesterday. Next announcement due on 27th June. Signings being released in batches so there are a good few still to come.

Can any one tell me why the Aaron Penberthy deal didnt materialise for him and the Pirates? I thought with him in the Championship along with Jake sharp(Bedford) and Craig Ratford(London Scottish) that these 3 young  flyhalfs would be the young guys to watch out for this season.

Either way I wish Aaron well for his season back at Redruth.

Pirates were trying to get him on a D/R basis, but they weren't able to do so as he isn't an England Academy player.

According to various reports he is going to be doing some pre-season work with them and may well be named in their extended B&I Cup squad. Probably a good decision all round as he's not really ready for the step up to Championship yet in my opinion and he will be a vital part of the Reds' campaign.

Taken from the main S & D's thread in case anyone had missed it:

Preston Grasshoppers announce signing of Ali Atkinson on club website from Sedgley Park. Makes seven new faces in all including Graham Holroyd (from Halifax RLFC) and Karl Fitzpatrick (ex Salford City Reds) who'll be player coach next season. Club has missed out on a couple of players but still keen to sign more new faces according to my source. About time too!!

Mersey,

somewhat confusing but 2nd row Ali Atkinson was a Fylde player for a number of years before he left Fylde to go to Sedgley Park at the start of last season about the same time that Paul Arnold joined Fylde. However he is a different player to 2nd row Oli Atkinson the former Canadian international who played for Mosley and went on loan to Fylde when Nick King suffered his arm break a few years ago.

Although he is now approaching the veteran stage Ali Atkinson is a good signing for Hoppers, he is an aggressive hard working 2nd row. He and Nick King formed a very strong 2nd row partnership for Fylde.

Ali Atkinson is one of a pair of big Blackburn-born twins, along with Andrew, who both turned out to be fine players. Andrew joined Fylde eight or so seasons ago before being joined by his brother Alistair who had spells with Orrell & New Brighton. Ali contracted testicular cancer and fought back incredibly bravely to pick up his playing career again at the Woodlands as well as turning out for Lancashire. He left for Sedgley at the beginning of the 2010/11 season and became more or less a first choice at lock.

The fearsome Andy emigrated to New Zealand, played at a high level before, I believe, retiring through injury.

Good luck to Ali at 'Hoppers. He's a major capture for them.

Vaikona to Oxford.

I thought one of the Hull guys would have been on the ball with this one? What does this mean for the club? could there be a major shake up on the East Coast?

Have I missed something? Is this true or just mischievous (in which case pretty stupid thing to do).

Can't understand why, either way, there's been no reaction since its posting.

Even Allan Foster would be hard put to show such sang froid as to treat a mischievous post to the contempt it deserves by ignoring it completely.

Obviously interested as we were on the point of hoovering him up (in my dreams)...

Wrong forum now but:

Just rumours like all the others and we will eventually see what the truth is when any announcement is made.

I heard the same StreetCred...If that's the case surly that puts Ella in trouble after he spent all summer acting as DOR and sorting recruitment, but we'll see as we can still only speculate as I mentioned in other posts no announcement still!!
