Spot on Brizzer but it could be the ideal way to close a tight game out if defending a narrow lead. Pembo or even Dudley would offer more attacking options when available but I was pleased to see Best tried at 10 as he could be exactly what is required if defending a small lead with 15 minutes to go up the slope at Bedford. The impact of being able to bring that huge loose head on after 60 minutes would also be incredible. He is seriously big even by Jersey standards and if he can carry the ball into contact in the loose he will commit a lot of opposition defenders even if you generally use him as a dummy runner to create space out wide.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

He is one big boy - whatever happens tackle him low and quick because he can run by the looks of things.

He had a great start to his career in South Africa and at Pau.
Quins signed him and then he ruptured his achilles.
When he recovered he was lent to richmond but I am not sure how much game time he got.
So he is now rebuilding his career in Jersey.

Got yellow carded in pre season game against Blackheath after 20 mins never came back on
couple for the firsts but mainly 2nds
Often 'injured'
I am not a fan but would certainly be very useful off the bench with 20 mins to go
Jersey certainly have the quality coaching staff to make improvements

Jersey haven't published profiles on the squad this year but that Loose Head gets my vote. As the club captain is also a Loose Head I suspect he will come off the bench most games but that lad ticks the "impact sub" box for me. I'm not bothered if he can catch the ball as if he makes a dummy run down the 10 channel the opposition midfield defence would have to cover anyone that big - the noise when his feet thud into the turf must catch defender's attention! Biggest loose head I've seen in recent years. Wouldn't want to get a seat on a small plane between that lad and Nick Selway on a bumpy flight back from Birmingham.  Jersey have put the player profiles online now and declare him as 134kg! He looks bigger.

I though that Salad looked really trim on Saturday. Probably the smallest he has been since he joined the club.

Coventry were due to be playing Bishop's Stortford on August 7th at Bishop's Stortford. Due to concerns over the pitch, this has been moved to Friday August 10th, at Cheshunt RFC.

As Coventry are playing Moseley on Saturday August 11th, the B.S. game will now be largely for Coventry's development squad.

Saw today that Harlequins have just signed Paul Lasike. I was hoping that he might be lured to Ealing to play with USA Eagles and Utah Warriors team mate Ben Landry. Instead, we'll be seeing him in the final pre-season game. He looked a monster against Scotland if I remember correctly.
However, with Irish up in week one, I'm wondering if the Friday game against Quins will be a bit of a damp squib. I hope that the staff go the other way on it, and use it as a real warm up to get the lads hardened for that level of competition.

Anyhow, Dragons up this weekend in Ealing and will be at that game. Anyone else going? Finally back to Rugby. :)
