Looked like a strong starting 15 for Blues . . presumably huge amount of changes affected continuity? Interesting to see Richmond also run close by Club . . . I was at Sale and thought Doncaster were excellent and somewhat unlucky in a very physical game.

As a complete neutral (friends from Sale) I went along to Sharks V Doncaster. Thought Doncaster did themselves proud and deserved...and should have got a couple of scores. The starting 9 looked very useful. Sharks class and fitness told but Doncaster should be pleased at a good showing in a tough fixture.

The Knights did themselves proud - I too felt that we left a couple of tries out there. I also think a couple of missed chances for sir to penalise Sale for illegal play led to tries for them - saying all that Sale were real quality and enjoyable to watch.

I have hope that Donny will challenge this year for a top 4 slot
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

I was impressed by Blackheath at RAG but the second half was pretty meaningless as a contest as there was a procession of players on and off. The half time score of 21-7 to Richmond was a a true reflection of the disparity- mostly in forward power. The second half was the usual pre season chaos with a few flashes of good play.

Sitting at TFSC with the score Dragons 19 Ealing 5 at the half. Very competitive, but Eali g have given up a few big breaks up the middle, similar to the Nottingham game last year. Ealing score came from a brilliant Segundo Tuculet offload in traffic. Success has come on the wings for Ealing so far. Would line to see some more chips. Aldo, have Wayne Barnes ! As ref.

O.k. 31-17 Dragons. Good game, and Ealing put together the better phases. Guy Armitage looked great in the second half, and Craig Wills looked dwcisive. Excited to go watch Quins in 2 weeks.

Craig Willis is a real talent and should dominate in Championship . .  and yes i tend to agree I think Doncaster will challenge for a top 4 spot.

Coventry 62 - 14 Moseley

Plenty of positives to come from the game.

Early days but the squad did all that was expected of them. Serious looking injury to a Moseley lad - hope he's ok...?

Wizards 7 Pirates 44. Good win considering we’ve lost last two away pre-seasons there!

Pappashanga , recheck half time score was 14-7. As I put on the Nat 1 board everything about Richmond was about forwards and kicking to the corner backs rarely got the ball but perhaps that’s what the Championship is about

FT in Jersey in the 7pm KO. Reds 14 Quins 33. Hosts took lead and it was all set to be 7-7 at the break, but a lost lineout with the last play sparked a visiting try for 7-14 at the break...

It was all square 14-each after 50 mins but the Quins cranked it up a bit - 3 more tries and perhaps a slightly flattering margin. Proper contest tho' in front of a smashing crowd of 2,052 & hopefully no serious injuries. Quins have at least 5 internationals to add to their line-up...

This was a cracking game in Jersey. Don’t be fooled by the score line, this was a full on game, played at a furious pace. Quinn’s quality out wide was the difference, but a really good work out for the reds.

One last point, the harlequins bright green shirts were truly shocking, bordering on vile. Paired with grey shorts and socks, they looked like a bunch of retro 1980’s clubbers who had just come out of the gym!! .... somebody have a word!!

Yes half time was 14-7. Dozy me. Yes it was all about the forwards. I’m hoping we are going to see more back play this season as we have some talented new backs. I thought the Blackheath backs looked good.

The score was massively influenced by the yellow card to the Jersey 8 and fair play to Quins they used the man advantage to full effect. For Quins Ben Tapuai was exceptional and Dave Ward gets better and better - what a great rugby player that lad is. For Jersey Brett Herron had his second outstanding match and looked a class act - early days but imo this lad is destined to play at a higher level. Great atmosphere which was genuinely enhanced by the cow bells so well done to the sponsor for the idea - I got two and properly handed them on to kids in the crowd and being a boring traditionalist continued to bash the perimeter boards and have the bruises this morning for my efforts.  Yellow card aside the discipline was short of the required standard last night - the team captain should sort this out. The referee was top draw and arguing with decisions made which both sides did and were consistently sanctioned by being walked back another 10m achieved absolutely nothing.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Unfortunately, Ryan Roach (Moseley Hooker) broke his ankle. Our only registered hooker out for months after 2 minutes of our first PSF... three weeks to scour around for someone else.

Wardy was brilliant at Pirates and I've never seen him back off a challenge. He was chatting with Pembo on the sidelines pre-match so clearly remembers his heritage down in Penzance. I rank Ward in the same category as Toops and Rae at Blues and Quiggley and Challinor at Donny - they always give 100% and you want them on your team rather than playing for the opposition.
