Bournville v Syston AW The Chociesare safe either way, Syston will play with their typical spirit

Bridgnorth v Sheffield HW Could be close home and changing room advantage will prevail

Broadstreet v SKiwifruithorpe AW Broadstreet have nothing to play for

Burton v Sandbach HW Could be close, each on similar points difference. No Jugs this week for the Cheshire Set

Derby v Nuneaton AW Should be routine for Nuneaton, recent form suggests not though!

Doncaster v Newport AW Dead rubber for Newport but they will want to end with a "W"

Lichfield v Luctonians AW Lambs to the slaughter...

Bournville v Syston AWAY Both clubs fates decided last week but Syston to finish on a high
Bridgnorth v Sheffield HOME Neither club can improve on where they are now so expect a high scoring entertaining game with North coming out on top to cap a fine season
Broadstreet v Scun-thorpe AWAY Some interesting rhetoric coming out of the Street media tent but interesting to see if the players have the same ambition to spoil Scunny's party - can't see it somehow!
Burton v Sandbach HOME Burton flying at the moment and another high scoring encounter can be expected
Derby v Nuneaton HOME Derby to end their 12 match losing streak? Can't tell you why but I think they will!
Doncaster v Newport AWAY Newport win be smarting from a run of 4 defeats in the last 7 which has ultimately seen them throw away a top 2 place. They will finish on a high and try again next year
Lichfield v Luctonians AWAY High scoring again and a big win for Lucs who are already selling tickets for their play off promotion game lunch which makes 2 things clear 1) They dont expect Scunny to lose and 2) They expect to pick up an easy 5 points here to ensure they are at home (99% likely that Blaydon will be the visitors)

There you go TB

Bournville v Syston HW - Syston's wind taken out of their sails

Bridgnorth v Sheffield HW - going for the home win

Broadstreet v Scun-thorpe AW- Scunny will want to just get the win

Burton v Sandbach HW - Burton to finish on a high

Derby v Nuneaton HW - don't think it matters which Nuns side turns up

Doncaster v Newport HW - Donny will want to finish on a high, Newport going through the motions

Lichfield v Luctonians AW - Lucs will have to put up the runners-up spot

Just got in, little difference of opinion from my learned friend Stallion.

Bournville v Syston AW Syston to finish the season on a win Chocolatiers playing for pride but the point they picked up against Sheffield was enough

Bridgnorth v Sheffield HW 'North to finish the season on a high Sheffield not the best travellers

Broadstreet v Sunny Scunny AW Only a win will be enough, not quite, but will take away any doubt.

Burton v Sandbach HW Which Sandbach team will turn up? Burton finishing well & have done well once settled.

Derby v Nuneaton AW Don't know which Nuns will turn up the ones who beat Broadstreet or the ones who lost to Burton, whichever, they should have enough to beat Derby

Doncaster Phoenix v Newport (Salop) HW Phoenix to rise and despite the 10 point deduction have done well Salopians nothing to play for and are guaranteed 3rd place.

Lichfield v Luctonians AW No let up from Lucs and the hapless Lichfield to suffer at Lucs hands.

Having congratulated Scunny I should also wish Lucs all the best for their play-off game on the 27th against Blaydon - having both come down from Nat2 last season (both on 53 points) it promises to be an almighty tussle!
Just picking up on a couple of other threads their appears to be shortages in both N2S & SW Prem due to the plethora of Northern & Midlands clubs being relegated from up above and thus being returned back to their own regions
If that is the case, given the location of Lucs, I guess they may be heading south one way or the other win or lose
Any thoughts? Particularly from Lucs followers

Stourbridge and Hinckley must also be in the mix. Being so far west may save Lucts, but I hope Blaydon sneak it a it would be even closer than the mighty Wharfedale for us.

Thanks Cobbler, most certainly squeaky bum time having rushed to a 17-0 lead, Broadstreet then scored a great try under the posts followed by a penalty on the stroke of halftime to make it 10-17. 2 separate yellow cards didnโ€™t help the cause and 2 kickable penalties later we were working hard to keep Broadstreet out. In the last 10 we camped on their line and only great defence prevented us scoring.

I know it will all depend on mileage calculations but can't see how Stourbridge and Hinckley will come out on least distance to travel compared with Leominster (Lucs) Yes there is a glut of clubs in N2S from the South East but equally so there are a clutch of Bristol clubs in addition to Taunton and Redruth

Sorry to interlope into your forum but couldn't see any threads that would be suitable for my question and having searched the RFU website could not glean any information on play-offs lower than Midlands Prem. So my question is how does promotion and relegation work when you get down to Midlands levels 2 and 3 which contains 4 regional sub-divisions sorted geographically. For example, In Midlands 3 East (South) Leicester Forest won and Northampton Casuals were second. Presumably Leicester Forest will be playing next season in Midlands 2 East (South) but where will Northampton Casuals play next season ? Is it 2 up or just 1 up or is there a play-off situation between them and second bottom from the above division ?
Many thanks for any help on this.

FP - you don't do too badly yourself with your posts spread far and wide across RM!!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Actually I'm not 100% sure I was correct previously - I think it may be the 2nd placed team with the better playing record that gets promoted (without the need for a Play-off) otherwise it would have to be 4 up and 4 down which seems a bit extreme especially in leagues with fewer teams

Posted By: cobbler
Date Posted: 16 Apr 2019 at 16:07
I'm sure all leagues that have 2 feeding one send up both winners and play-off the 3rd promotion (with 3 relegated). If one league feeds one (as per WR's example I think), it is 2 up, 2 down.

No play offs that far down Cobbler e.g. Northampton Casuals (who finished 2nd in Midlands3 East (South) have already declared themselves as promoted so top 2 from that division go straight up to Midlands2 East (South) and likewise with clubs playing at Level 8 and below
In summary there are only 4 play off games in the Midlands which are all due to be played on 27th April and are listed on RFU website
The assumption in my previous post was wrong

I'm told Saturday's Sandbach game against Sheffield has a venue change. Now at Sheffield Hallam's facility at Bawtry Road. Other side of the City near Meadowhall.
