It's that time of the year again. Here's my first stab at listing the ups & downs which will affect the structure of next season's Regional Premier Leagues.

As usual, any team definitely at this level next season has a bold coloured background, anyone whose fate is still unknown has a pale background, and anyone definitely leaving the level has a white background.

Many decisions remain to be made in the coming weeks - the picture is still rather vague, particularly in the South West.

I'm sure I will have made the odd mistake, so please feel free to point out any discrepancies.

Well done Dagfish great 1st effort, although as ever it’s still as clear as mud as to who finishes where. I think that Broadstreet & Lucs could finish up the other way round depending on who wins the play off. As I recall Malvern went SW a few seasons ago from our Midlands league. As you say it may become clearer next week. I’m interested to see if your Bees don’t replace Broadstreet in N2S if the play off goes against PL. Still a lot of interesting permutations.
Will you be visiting Sunny Scunny on 21st along with Stallion. If you do we might have a better idea then.

Here is the picture following this week's matches. Still quite a lot of decisions to be made ....

I think Peterborough Lions are now guaranteed the runner's up spot in Midlands Premier. They are 5 points ahead of Newport (Salop) with only one game to go and with 2 more wins to their name, so even if the points are tied after next week, they will finish second by virtue of having the extra win.

Newport need two five point wins v Lichfield (H) and Bees (A) but this will only be enough if Peterborough only pick up four at home to Bridgnorth in which case Newport would finish one point ahead
(Highly unlikely but still possible!)

I stand corrected, Sir. I had forgotten about the catch up game against Bees. Still all to play for!

Bet they're glad they refused the RFU's offer of transferring to South East now!

Oh I doubt it... That would've been a much easier route.!

Very glad we declined to go SE, just need 5 points and Hull to lose their last game.

Here's the latest version of the picture. It's looking a little clearer now, but still a lot to decide!

I think you'll find Peterborough Lions are in the play offs. Newport (Salop) even if they win with 5 points don't go through as they have won fewer games.
For a similar reason I think Leicester Lions are safe, as even if Luctonians win their ast 3 games with 5 points each game including one against LL and LL don't pick up any points LL will have lost fewer games.

Dagfish

Peterborough Lions have secured 2nd spot by virtue of the fact that even if Newport match Lions points tally, the next determinant is the number of wins. Newport cannot match Peterborough's tally of wins

Was just wondering has the venue for the Chingford v Medway play off final been announced yet, and on what date is it being played?

Not listed on RFU site yet, but is there any reason why it would not be at Chingford on Saturday?

Just listed the teams in alphabetical order not that Chingford had already been approved as the designated home side.

I've updated the original post to show Peterborough Lions in the play-offs.
I'm not so sure about Leicester Lions - I couldn't find anything in the RFU regulations which mentions the number of defeats. It seems to go Wins, Draws, then points difference. If you can point me to any regulations which include the number of defeats, I'll have a look.
