So in essence, 3 North teams promoted.

Here's the latest picture, with only 3 places left to be decided after this week.

It looks like the SW has 14 teams so no level transfers needed there.
LSE has only 13 teams, so a level transfer is needed from the Midlands (my guess is Bedford Ath?).
Midlands wil have 10 or 11 teams (after the transfer to LSE), and North will have 17 or 18, so there will be either 3 or 4 level transfers from North to Midlands. Sandbach, Doncaster Phoenix, Sheffield ... ???

Thanks for the update Dagfish, the picture is becoming clearer. I know it sounds weird but I am already looking forward to next season. From a local perspective Southend have been relegated but have already announced some interesting changes in player and coaching personnel so hopefully they will be challenging for a quick return. However with two more Essex clubs joining the fray for the first time in Brentwood and Chingford my options for watching games at this level have been increased. Hopefully both clubs will be slightly more competitive than the last of my local teams to gain promotion to the level in Eton Manor.

If London SE are short, I guess it’s likely a Midlands team will get transferred?

Not likely - definite.
If SW have 14 teams, then there will be no level transfers in or out of that league, so the extra LSE team has to come from the Midlands.

I don't expect Broadstreet to go to SW apart from anything else it already has 14 in it. I would have thought if any where they would go to LSE but more likely to back to Midlands along with Lucs. My guess would be for Bedford to go to LSE. Sheffield as well to Midlands to make the 14 up as they were play off winners 2017, an alternative would be for Lymm to go to Midlands as they have before and Sheffield into North.
But what do I know.Big smile

In addition relegated clubs CANNOT be level transferred, they automatically go back to their home region
They could APPLY but why would Broadstreet (Coventry based) want to go south?

Based on that then Sheffield would go to North and someone from North to be level transferred unless Sheffield apply.

No - they initially go back to their home league, but all clubs (except those who were transferred and then returned are guaranteed two season before transferring again, unless promoted, relegated or they volunteer ) are subject to transfer:

Quote
Note: This Regulation applies whether a Club has remained in the League following the Season or has been promoted or relegated into it pursuant to Regulation 13.2.11 (b).

Basically

Volunteers first.
Then those with lowest mileage in new league.
As between equals those with higher mileage in home league.
If there is still a tie, the team that played at a higher level or did better is given the option.
If they say no, the other team has to go.

Hi all,

Long time no speak but I thought I would end the level transfer speculation at Level 5 early.

Bedford Athletic have been "offered" the transfer from Midlands to London and we will take it.

Very much looking forward to new venues and a new challenge but a little sad not to be renewing acquaintances in the Midlands. However the travel in the Midlands would be horrendous for us - it seems like in one year's absence everyone has upped sticks and moved to the edges of the patch plus let a bunch of Northern teams in!LOL

Anyway enjoy the off season and maybe I'll meet a few London based RMs in the new season.

Those Northerners, they ruin everything! Wink

In seriousness, welcome to London & South East.

The speculation isn't quite over as in theory Sheffield should go back to North. If Lucs perform a miraculous comeback and win their last two games with 5 points each (this week they play Leicester Lions away & the last is against Champions Sale at home) then there would be three teams going NPL  and only one space. My guess is that Lucs won't succeed and will go to the Midlands from whence they came in 2010/11, Sheffield would return to Midlands from where they won their promotion season 2016/2017 otherwise it's Blaydon. Me thinks not. Still some speculation still to be had LOL

Welcome to the league of the 'City Slickers'. We (Hertford) will have to battle it out with Tring for local derby status with you.!

If Lucs escape then I think two more Northern sides have to switch to Midlands making 4 on LT in total (The Midlandsish but a bit Northern Premier League), if they don't escape then its just one more. I accept this side of things isn't sorted out but as this just about a balance between North and Midlands teams it won't affect us. Broadstreet's relegation from Nat 2 South has opened up the trapdoor to London and we've gone through it!

Good luck in that league Athman. The experience of others (Tows and Luton in recent years) suggests you'll need it. Keep picking up those losing BPs if you do lose!!

Are you two sure that no one would be moved from SWP as the league is full? Am I misunderstanding the discussion?

Surely if Maidenhead or Bracknell's cumulative mileage in LSEP is lower than someone in the Midlands they would move. My logic is based on if SWP and MP are at full compliment and NP is “over populated” they would Level transfer from there?
Rucks and mauls may bust my balls, but whips and chains excite me!!

They do it with the fewest number of moves possible. If they moved a club from SW to SE, there would be a gap to fill in SW, so would still need someone to move from Midlands to SW, and one from North to Midlands. This is one more move than just moving a team from Midlands straight to SE.
