IT - I think the point is that they are recruiting players that did play for Southend in Nat 2 days rather than from their current squad. Rumour also has it that next season will be their last with this financial backer. Also I think they have set their sights higher than avoiding relegation

Indeed I heard that this backer only invested to try and one up the backer of Southend.

Isn't that the main reason anyone has ever sponsored their local team.

South West always seemed to be better at releasing the fixtures than London, and they have better communication

last two seasons its been the first week of June, but maybe level transfers delay things if they have to tell clubs to move and they appeal etc.

Bedford seem content to stay in LSE so I can't image there are going to be too many problems with level transfers.

I've just seen that SW Rugby have delayed he announcement of fixtures "Owing to issues with level transfers into SW Premier". I assume that means there has been an appeal by the club they want to level transfer, presumably Bromsgrove? The waiting continues..........

If it's true about the B's (separate post), will this affect Bromsgrove's possible move? Plus what affect will this have on the league structures?

That may be the basis of Bromsgrove's appeal (if they've lodged one?)but it doesn't alter the fact that SW Prem is still one short

Apparently the Midlands League organising committee have classed certain level transfers as impractical and have referred the matter to the RFU. Not certain exactly which league or which transfer it referred to - certainly not the Bedford Athletic move to London & SE which has been agreed and signed off. However its a new development as I don't think a league organising committee has ever appealed against a level transfer before as opposed to a club!

A club blackmailing the Midlands RFU (You transfer us and we withdraw) maybe? Or the Midlands RFU saying "this club can't afford to transfer as it will bankrupt them"?

Whilst watching someone service my boiler thought I'd get the calculator out and do some mileage calculations for clubs involved in the "Who goes to South West" debate
Bromsgrove 3674 miles for 13 away games (Round trip - Average 282)
Bournville 3964 (Avge 305)
Bees 3890 (Avge 299)
The difference between Grove & Bees is greater than the 2% tolerance to be judged equal so there would appear to be no escape for Bromsgrove
Based on current allowances paid for long distance travel Bees would also pick up some money on 2 more trips than Grove - double that for what would be paid for clubs coming to them so cost to RFU would be £1400/£1500 extra which we all know the beleaguered RFU couldn't possibly afford
Which just goes to confirm what we all knew already!!😂😂😂
Interesting to hear an opinion from Bromsgrove although I dont think anyone from there has ever ventured onto this thread
Boiler done now with no parts required
Happy days!!

There's only one old boiler in that household TB and you could do with some new parts LOL

It possible someone from Bromsgrove has commented. Forum name ‘Theroughpro’ appears to be an anagram of their head coach Protherough. 😉

Bromsgrove have a lot of competition locally for support with the meteoric rise of the round ballers getting back to back to back promotions and getting consistent 1000+ crowds. Bromsgrove Sporting won their play off in front of a 3000+ crowd. It’s true that the rugby club would only get a smattering of that, it’s a Wendyball town So Gate revenue will be minimal to support away travel.
Too late for next season but would splitting the 4 regions into 5 regions be a solution? The shape of the country isn’t very helpful but perhaps a new “North” then perhaps a “Midlands North” “Midlands South” then “SW” and “SE” or variations thereof. #LightsBlueTouchpaperAndRetiresImmediately
