Great to get a 6N official for the game in Jersey... apart from it's changed, with Adam Leal the new man in charge.

Glad to see JP Doyle has recovered from the exertions of Goldington Road, but it should be another great workout. Mind you I bet the first scrum is before 52 minutes!! For sure you are guaranteed to see sympathetic refereeing.

Sarah Cox did an OK job when in charge of the game in Jersey a few weeks back (think it was Bedford), but I am surprised to see that Clare Daniels has not been given this game. Always rated her as a top RA and has looked assured when in charge of the ladies playing at international level. Sadly, I have yet to see her with the whistle.
It may just be me, but from the side lines there seems to be a little less back chat when the ladies are in charge. What a respectful game we enjoy

Ealing Trailfinders team for the weekend: The team is almost unchanged from the group that won handily against Nottingham, which is a good sign. A bad sign is that Rayn Smid is still pressed into emergency duty at 4 due to injuries - shocking in a squad this big. I am surprised that May and Burns seem to have supplanted Foley and Willis as the first choice tandem, as I thought that Willis and Foley run the attack much more quickly. Also, it would appear that perhaps Matt Cornish has beat out Alun Walker for the starting Hooker position. I initially thought that it was just to rest Alun, but perhaps the coaches feel like Matt (a TF home grown product) is the future for the club. Overall, I'm feeling confident with this side.
1: Alex Lundberg

Assistant Referees (formerly known as touch judges) tend to fall into two camps: some are officials on the way up who also referee games; others are designated as ARs and aren't expected to be given the whistle. Clare Daniels is in the latter group I believe, so will probably stick to the touch-line.

Best thing about Sara Cox at the Bedford game was that no-one mentioned the officiating afterwards!

Irish are coming to bully us like they did so effectively in the 2nd BIC game.  The other two we could've and perhaps should've won.

I thought there was a cap of 6 borrowed players in a 22?

I'm wondering if they have signed some over? I'm quoting the details from the Gloucestershie Live website, which is the Gloucester local paper, and is leading the article on all the loaned players.

Jersey seem to be mixing things up a little, which is very understandable at this stage of the season. A very welcome return for Connor Joyce and what looks like a high impact bench.
No Mark Bright I see for LS, which would be a blow for any side in this division, but also an opportunity for others to 'step up' and fill those massive boots. Weather not looking good, so could be a game of attrition.
As always, looking forward to seeing a familiar foe who we tend to have very mixed results against, so don't let the table deceive you, this will be a very hard fought game by both sides.

Bring It On Baby!!
