Thanks Camquin

No need to worry about transferring them in. Just use them to survive, and in return vote for ringfencing at both ends of the Championship, with Championship teams being the paired feeders to the permanently protected premiership teams.

Disgusting.

I have to admit, I am hoping for Hartpury to take the drop. They seem like an artificial club, like an A-league side for the west country premiership teams.

Totally agree, they don’t add to the division in my opinion.

Hartpury earned their place in the Championship and it's certainly good to have a West Midlands club there are an awful lot from London. Im not sure that the loan and D R recruits are any different to what many other clubs have done in the past.

No one said they didn't earn their place, but the choice of Hartpury and Richmond, I'd take Richmond.  Hartpury have little to no crowd, few it all travelling support.

I hope the choice of which team falls out of the Championship is ALWAYS AND ONLY determined by the fact they ended up bottom of the league. Ealing have similar levels of support to Hartpury who I still think of a Midlands team - in my book the North starts at the Humber and West starts at Bristol. Roth, Mose & Albion are all brilliant places to visit with great supporters and on a personal basis I would rather see one of them return than another London Club but whoever goes up or down imo it should be based on playing merit - and if its Jersey's lot for the cards to fall that way in future so be it.

You could say exactly the same on whoever comes up, it shouldn’t matter where they come from and it should always and only based on playing merit. If they bring more support and enhance the status of the league the better. Having a good geographical spread is desirable, as it makes it more a national league.

There are several issues this league has from obtaining the coverage and sponsorship it requires to be able to better financially support itself. Having poor crowds and the perception a student team are in it (I know they are not) does not exactly enhance the image of the product on offer to the public at large.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, I expect and hope that Cov will prevail handsomely today. If the strength of feeling locally is transferred into the performance of the players and the crowd, Hartpury won't know what's hit them. Today's weather has a tendency to be something of a leveller, but I don't expect that to bother anyone much apart from Will Maisey.

Funnily enough, I've become much more of a Richmond sympathizer this past few days.

And what happens? Maisey kicked immaculately, with a 40m pen and two cons from the touchline (in the wind) and a third from his wrong side, but slightly further in. Couldn't make it up.
