Unlucky Blaydon, it went to the wire. See you again in the future no doubt. Macc too, I'm sure you'll both have strong seasons in N2 next year.

As for us, we get to do it all again next year, and without knowing it's only because Welsh went bust. Guess we need to get used to these 'exciting' seasons.

The season ended with Hull Ionians safe from relegation. Even if the London Welsh debacle hadn't happened and 3 were relegated, finishing with four wins from the last four games made Nat 1 certain for 2017/18.

Blaydon have the same issues with support, rely heavily on the very successful carboot sale to fund the 1st team rugby.

They've done well to manage to remain in Nat1 on the very small budget of the last 2 seasons and locally its well known that their ageing pack is retiring so I guess dropping to Nat 2N won't be a bad thing in the long run.
All opinions are my own.

Renegade
Don`t know where you get the ageing pack from
Out of those leaving or retiring only one is over 31
One of those leaving is only 23 but he has a two year contract at the Falcons others are injury problems
Please engage your brain before committing to paper.
