Looks like 6th placed Rosslyn Park didn't get off the bus until 2nd half. That's the spirit.

Team with nothing to play for gets beaten by team scrapping for their lives. Shock, horror, probe.

Old Albanian and Mowden need to take note because both Blaydon and Hull Ionians will be desperate for a win, however it comes, next week.

backrowb,
There was no shock horror here, I fully expected Blaydon to win.
Having said that, after 60 mins it was 2nd from bottom 40, 6th from top 'ZERO'. You must admit that the score at 60 mins is surprising rather than shocking and, however you look at it, it represents an indifferent effort from the much higher placed opposition.

no not really  just your usual way of looking at it im supprised  you havnt blamed the ref  for not allowing rosslyn park off the bus  until the second half   and besides   havnt heard much complaint  about  the 10th place old a.s   losing to 3rd bottom team  either  that must be indifferent effort too

GP,
Open your other eye.
I would assume that you have heard nothing about Hull I's beating OA's because that was a much closer match. In your eagerness to have a go at me you seemed to have missed that point.
We scrapped for a win and played very well. I see that Blaydon also played well. Both clubs will be looking to do the same next week. The difference in the 2 games yesterday was the quality of the opposition. I take nothing away from Blaydon's win but at least our opposition turned up.

Anyway, it will all be sorted out next week and you will be able to look forward to a trip to Elloughton or Blaydon.

P.s. fyi our ref was not up to much and lacked consistency but don't they all.

I didn't think the ref was that bad Sid. Certainly no worse than I've seen before. he missed a couple of things but he was unsighted for them and would have needed a call from his assistants. I thought the moments we lived ones hadwobbly were of our own making but we played some nice rugby as well.

HeH,
I agree. We have had a lot worse.
He received no assistance at all on the off-side/back foot rule or shepherding. Hence no room to play. His AR's were were hopeless.
The ref gave a penalty against OA's for killing the ball on heir line. Unfortunately, one of our players over reacted and the ref gave him a yellow. Fair enough it was poor discipline but, why was the OA's player who killed he ball not carded? Is the first offence forgotten when we have a second offence?

It is my understanding that the officials are instructed to punish the player who retaliates more harshly than the instigator – is that right?
