Ealing played a very sloppy first half, and Donny did a great job of making Ealing pay. In the second half Ealing got a bit more adventurous with their boots to create more opportunities and they quit beating themselves. Donny brought a great crowd and their fans were topnotch - a shame they couldnt come away with a few deserved bps.

Poor quality match with the JP Doyle effect not quite working like it did at Bedford. Too many mistakes from both sides spoiled the flow of the game. We seemed to get sucked in to a kick-orientated slug fest...not our forte.

The Cov bench thankfully proved the difference in the end when we finally upped the pace.

I have to say the constant jibes about the Hartpury players being from, Gloucester, Bristol etc wore a bit thin after the first half an hour...

Quite agree, Rob.

Blame the system, not the club...thought our superior fitness and quality off the bench made the difference.

Heath Stevens wasn't too impressed at being replaced, though!

Well done Scottish a great performance built upon a very solid defence and a strong kicking game particularly in the first half.  It was a tough first quarter for Jersey who struggled to gel with a number of changes.  The second quarter was much better and a platform was starting to be built but unforced errors were the undoing and a score before half time that looked like it might be coming would have made a big difference.  The early try to Scottish in the second half (and very well executed too) made it a bridge too far for Jersey.  What was encouraging was that for most of the second half the zip and confidence in the Jersey game was back, something we haven't seen for a few games.  Hopefully we can take that momentum on and get our season back on track. Onwards and upwards.

Huge effort from the Blues today, very proud of them, both teams were out on their feet at the end, I thought the difference was the Irish loose forwards were slightly better than ours, but I wouldn't swap our backs for anyone's in our league. A great game and, to be honest, a better result than I thought it would be, I should know by now, we always raise our game against the big boys. I arrived expecting the worst, left annoyed we didn't win it.
I want you all to line up in a circle and pair up in three's alphabetically by height.

Jersey simply not at the races today, another poor performance. Hooker needs to remember that when its our line out, we try to throw to our players, not chuck it over the top and gift Scottish two tries.
But the biggest criticism goes to the DoR. What on earth is he thinking picking a second string team for a regular League game?Angry
This wasn't a dead rubber Cup game or some training exercise. No doubt we'll hear that it was "rotation" or it was "up to the guys to claim the shirt when given the opportunity" . Sorry Harvey, strongly disagree with todays selection.  It surely should always be the case that you pick your strongest side, the most settled, and respect the opposition.  It looked again as if we underrated Scottish who thoroughly out played us and deserved to win.  Season long stand out forwards like Beckett and Venter especially plus Roy Godfrey, Will Homer and Mark Best all on the bench. Where was Atalifo too, an International prop ? That's a third of the first choice team watching for 60 minutes. Ok two tries once they came on but by then the game had gone
I never thought I'd see some of our staunchest supporters leaving the ground well before the end of the gameOuch
Come on Jersey........

Isithalftimeyet you are spot on with your assessment of LS, they were 1st class today, especially their 10 who completely controlled the game. However, you are far to generous in your assessment of Jersey, who were absolutely shocking today. The game plan was so obvious that we were calling the moves before they were run and the execution was slack to say the least.
Not a surprise that the changes came so early in the 2nd half and the Reds improved to awful.
Lots to think about before we make a very difficult trip to Leedshire next week. I know that we have lots of injuries, but today was out worst performance of the season by an absolute country mile.
The only thing missing today was a BP for LS, which they fully deserved.

Jersey played today like a one trick pony but left the pony in the stable. The one trick was "pull it back and pass wide" and if the defence drifts???? It can work if the defence thinks you might attack the 10 channel but otherwise the winger is well marked. Scottish clearly reviewed the videos and well deserved the win.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Thought our boys played one of of their best this season, probably deserved something, vut probably doesn't win points. We came up short, didnt take a few chances, that was the the difference. Really enjoed the visit to Ealing, good crowd.

'Isithalftimeyet you are spot on with your assessment of LS, they were 1st class today, especially their 10 who completely controlled the game.'

Was that Jake Sharp, by any chance?

Sadly he never found any sort of form at Cov and never accepted by a small, but vocal group, of Cov supporters which was extremely disappointing...? Hope he's settled back in at London Scottish - it must have been a nightmare move the him at Cov.

Jake is back at Bedford. Scored 13 points with the boot against London Irish yesterday.

Jake Sharp is at Bedford, and played against us two weeks ago. He left London Scottish last summer.
