Thought sharpy had an excellent game for Bedford against Irish and has generally been impressive since returning. Bedford very much suits his style of play.

Richmond absolutely dominant in the first half against Pirates yesterday - they will rue their inability to build more than a ten point lead given the territory and total scrum domination. Pirates came good in the last twenty minutes or so.

The Pirates defence has been absolutely rock solid in the last 4/5 games and we're very difficult to break down. When Scottish came to The Mennaye to was the same story - they dominated territory and possession for 25 minutes but couldn't score, then we broke away and scored completely against the run of play. We imposed ourselves in the second half and won comfortably in the end. Hope to see you at some stage during the season, Ben.

LS fly-half was Rory Jennings, briefly a Jersey player in Jan 2016 when he made 1 Cup + 1 Lg appearance - he did well... |

Great battle at Goldington Road - once again a Prem Ref looks after the Prem boys "just enough" Obviously different laws for high tackles and rolling away for Prem teams!

I feel your pain Dunc, it sometimes does feel like the refs look after the big boys more.....allegedly it evens out over the season.

I thought that the ref was fairly invisible on Saturday at Vallis Way, which seems the best possible outcome to me. Any feelings from Donny fans on the officiating?

I totally agree - I don't think he had a bad game at all. And any inconsistencies were inconsistent both ways.
My message to Dunc was that it can sometimes go that way and usually it seems to favour the 'bigger' team.

Having a Prem ref didn't help LI when they visited Jersey in November...

There were a lot of seat belt tackles and holding around the neck of the Blues players that went unpunished. However, we still wasted 3 or 4 good try scoring opportunities. Two that spring to mind was in the 2nd half when we broke from our own 5 metre line and got up to half way, another from inside our 22m, when Lane made a break and Tapley had soap on his hands, dropping it on the Irish 22m! Irish didn't look very good for a team looking to go up and you can see why they are recruiting heavily for next season.
