I`m fairly new to this forum, so please forgive me if this subject has been broached previously.

Is there any mileage in clubs reciprocating free entry for opposition season ticket holders? i.e. Team A. are playing away at team B, so all team A season tickets holders gain free entry & vice versa.  It might encourage more away support, put more cash over home team bar??  Maybe all teams in a league agree, or I being optimistic??   Confused Thoughts?

I suspect it is a non-starter due to the reduction in match day income that it would cause.

Tynedale and Blaydon in the North East have certainly had a reciprocal arrangement in the past - 50% discount I believe for the other club’s season ticket holders.

Can only speak for myself as an OEs season ticket holder, but fixtures have been cleverly arranged so that we never play at home on the same day as Blackheath. Suspect I would visit Blackheath more often if a reciprocal arrangement was in place.

Surely you are on the road following OEs - except for the annual visit to Well Hall.

Admissions and season tickets vary between clubs. On away matches with my club when we go on a coach some clubs have given us a discount.

Certainly happens in cricket. Leicestershire members get free admission at Derby and Nottinghamshire for County Championship matches and vice versa.

I can manage Rosslyn Park and maybe Esher this season but don't have the time or transport to venture further afieldSmile

I don't see it happening.

Allowing the visitors season ticket holders in free or at a reduced cost will reduce income.

Where it might work is allowing neighbouring clubs season ticket holders in at a reduced cost for other games.

For the season when Macclesfield were last promoted to N1 there was reduced entrance for Chester fans at Priory Park.  That was the only time I've had discounted entry.

A sensible use of discounting, attempting to bring in fans who may not normally attend!
