Brilliant day in "the other Island" yesterday. I watched three full on matches with no quarter given and in truth although Guernsey won them all - they were all competitive and I had a wonderful day and the sun shone and the beer was cold and bitter. The Jersey teams were outgunned in them all but Jersey need more practice at losing games like this which was good for rugby. A pity about the abuse from the young Guernsey  bloods as the Jersey contingent left for the boat home but they probably need more practice to learn how to win well.

I hear that Guernsey are voting on a proposal to allow assisted suicide today, likely to become the first location within the BI where it will be legal

I do hope that the proposed legislation is a response to the visiting supporters obvious state of mind after the games...

Dear Fat Albert

Shouldn't it be Jersey who are voting regarding the assisted suicide

One third pros in that Jersey team, but still a strong look about it.
Looking forward to 2,500 plus tomorrow, and a good Reds win.
And to seeing the Raiders Chairman regret his moans to the media about the Reds.
Hopefully Henry Cavill here again ?
Come on Jersey........

Man Bieau P'tit Jèrri

clyiquez pouor ouï la chanson
(Man Bieau P'tit Jèrri - mp3: Badlabecques )

(Man Bieau P'tit Jèrri - mp3)

clyiquez pouor ouï la chanson
(Man Bieau P'tit Jèrri - mp3: à la Faîs'sie d'Cidre 2011)
Y'a un coin d'tèrre qué j'aime, qué j'n'oubliéthai janmais -
Dans mes pensées tréjous preunmyi -
Car jé n'vai rein à compather à ses bieautés
Dans touos mes viages à l'êtrangi.
Jèrri, man paradis, pus belle taque souos l'solé -
Qué j'aime la paix dé chu Jèrri!
L'amour lé veurt, j'ai si envie dé m'en r'aller
Èrvaie man chièr pétit pays,

Man bieau p'tit Jèrri, la reine des îles -
Lieu dé ma naissance, tu m'pâsses bein près du tchoeu;

Èrvaie ma chiéthe et man siez-mé.

Man bieau p'tit Jèrri, la reine des îles -
Lieu dé ma naissance, tu m'pâsses bein près du tchoeu;
Ô, tchi doux souv'nîn du bouôn temps qu' j'ai ieu
Quand j'pense à Jèrri, la reine des îles!

The sun shone & so did Channel Island rugby today. I saw three of the matches and they could all of gone either way. Commitment was extraordinary and defence was raw. What a great day to be down south in St Peter and then to enjoy a glass or two in St Ouens. Well done everyone - there seemed to be thousands at the ground - safe home on the boat at almost midnight to Les Anes.

Great day indeed.  Full commitment from both sides in the Siam with Jersey edging it but it could have gone wither way.  3,001 was the official attendance and it was certainly rocking.  Well done all.
