Just so you hear it from the horses mouth first, Dan Leo moves from London Cornish to Bishops Stortford. He has been a great influence at L7 for the past 2 years, and I have no doubt will be a success back up at L3.

It's a while since he played for Cov. Great signing as he really found some form at the end of the season after returning from a long injury lay-off.

Esher have signed two centres for next season. Jack Lavin joins from Caldy, a great signing IMHO, and Chris Arnold has joined from Australia. Our squad nearly complete, one or two still to be confirmed as well as d/r players.

Not a bad signing for I's. T.O.D is a bit of a specimen and bring a lot of physicality to an already strong I's pack.

Had already noted that Pritch had moved to Ampthill. From Old Albanian, not Cov.

It's good to see natural progression. If this involves Yorkshire talent moving onwards and upwards and staying in Yorkshire, all the better. They are all very welcome.

And probably better to be a Yorkshire Nat 1 side than the Chumpionship team that plays at Leeds, don't know the current name!

I agree. Playing regularly in Nat 1. must be preferable to being part of a Championship squad and spending at least half of the season not having a game at the weekend.

Mark Luffman becomes the latest addition to the Mowden Park coaching team

Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce that Mark Luffman will be joining the club as the new men’s forwards coach. The coach joins the DMP setup following a long stint as head coach of National 2 North side Otley. Mowden Park’s Director of Rugby Danny Brown was delighted to welcome the new coach to the DMP setup: “To bring in someone of Mark’s calibre is fantastic for DMP and will help to progress the current players and also those coming through the club. Mark is one of the most respected coaches in the game and that is proven through his continued work with the RFU developing young players on the elite pathway. Just in the first few sessions Mark has settled well and the players have responded working together with the experience of Garry Law and John Newton I believe the team are in very good hands and we look forward to seeing what the season brings.”

Mowden’s new forwards coach joins the club following coaching stints with England U18s, Yorkshire Carnegie and Otley, and was pleased to be joining the DMP setup: “I’m really excited to be joining the coaching team at DMP and joining a club with real ambition, fantastic facilities and a club that is really embedded into the community and juniors in the area. I haven't coached in National One for a number of years so I'm looking forward to the challenge.”

Luffman’s coaching career comes after a successful playing career with Leeds Tykes, and the ex-hooker was excited at the new challenge ahead of him: “Clearly I’m joining an established and successful coaching group but hopefully I can add some new ideas from my experiences and we can together develop a successful and exciting brand of rugby that players and spectators enjoy. By the end of the season I hope to be challenging at the top of what is an ever more difficult league.”
