Ealing Trailfinders will be playing Bishop`s Stortford at home on the 24th August. I watched Bishop`s Stortford play away at Chinnor and was impressed by the quality of the Rugby on show. I believe they will struggle up front and may be starved of any decent possession.

It will be interesting to see some of the new players. I know there are several key players with injuries !. This will give the new players an opportunity to shine. It has been an incredibly long pre season build up and hopefully this game and the Rosslyn Park game will blow out the cobwebs in readiness for the cup and league games.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Ugghh...there were real issues with injury bugs last year too. Are you able to say who has manged to get injured already? I saw a group of carry-over players in Ealing Broadway earlier this week, and none of them looked too badly off.

Kieran Murphy had a calf strain and I believe Craig Willis is injured and unable to train. These are two key players in my opinion.

The website now shows the entire squad numbering 40 players. This excludes all of the newly formed academy signings who I presume are entirely dedicated to Brunel university BUC`s rugby.

That's a cracking squad - real quality. Falcons have a big quality advantage in the forwards (particularly the front row) but that trailfinders squad has real depth. Can we see some rugby - please?

I suspect the Falcon's forwards will be the decisive factor this season gerg_861. Sam Lockwood at loose head & take your pick at Tight Head between any of the Falcon's giants will win more scrum pens than you care to count. Kick into the corner and maul a try - virtually unstoppable.  Ealing & Falcons have quality behind but front row is the key this season imo.

A load of big lads at Falcons.

Any pre-season for Leeds to gauge their strength?

The big plus for Trailfinders this season is that they don't play the Falcons until well into the season on 21 December. Last season they were always at a bit of a disadvantage with a much-changed squad playing - and losing - their first match of the season at home to a fairly settled London Irish side.

That is also our "winter wonderland" game, which is heavily promoted and tends to draw a good home crowd to cheer the boys on.

Nice new kit for the Reds with very little change.
Looking at the player profiles, one or two looked a bit odd or shall we say well fed over the summer.
Looked again and worked out its the diagonal stretch marks on the new shirt !!!.
Think that/those will look better on a really muddy day.....

Looking forward to some rugby soon- tomorrow. Will be good to spot the new guys and see who catches the eye.....
Come on Jersey........

Fully agree brilliant player but probably wouldn't make the bench at Falcons if their squad is fit.  To keep the league interesting at the top end Ealing need to avoid losing against mid table sides and Pirates, Blues et al need a gale/monsoon match to blag a win against Falcons. Jersey will surely beat them (in my dreams anyway) but probably in the cup. I hope Ealing keep it competitive.

And the Leinster side. 503 caps and 11 senior debutants in their squad of 30.
