Surely they should have known the state of the pitches when they got up this morning before you had to travel 200 miles

Devon U20s are due to play at Ivy today (sun) vs Cornwall , switched from Plymouth  Albion's ground mid week due to Albion's pitch issues.

No phonecall, no warning, nothing.

Turned up to be told the pitch was unplayable and the ref had been called half an hour prior to our arrival, to be told to return home.

We have played on pitches in far worse condition, and wanted to play. Both captains agreed they wanted to play, but upon reading regulations, stating that the ref would need final say, if both skippers were happy, but the Ivy captain (after discussion with other club members) miraculously had a change of heart, and felt the pitch was unsafe.

Extremely frustrating, compounded by the fact that a few of us then went to watch the Dings game, and felt that pitch was in worse condition, and the game was played.

6am start for a lot of our lads, for a wasted day. Extremely unhappy.

And the game is going ahead by the look of things. Sounds pretty poor form from Ivybridge considering the distance Maids were travelling. The forecast was pretty accurate so they'd have known the pitches wouldn't improve during the day.

Enjoying life!

Maidsboy,my boy said there were a few of you at Dings yesterday.Hope you were cheering for us lol.

I remember couple of seasons back we travelled to Ivybridge only for the game to be called off at the last minute,we phoned them 3 times on the way and they reassured us the game was on we were absolutely gutted.

This league getting very exciting now especially at the bottom.Lydney starting to turn it on but maybe to late Hornets look down for sure and from nowhere Weston have got themselves in trouble. The local derby could well decide it.

Dings in a great position but every game is tough and 2nd spot could still go to anyone of the top 7 .

Happy Sunday...

Dingbat, we had a great time at Landseer Avenue yesterday, thank you. Along with Camborne and Lydney, Dings has been my favourite new place to visit this year- tough on the pitch, loud partisan crowd, but I found the supporters extremely welcoming and hospitable. Proper ‘old school’ rugby clubs.

Title is yours now, by far the best side in the league, especially defensively, where Dings were superb v Bournemouth. I wish you all the best with your move to the new ground.

Well a very low scoring week caused by the 2 games being called off. The Ivybridge one is obviously very bad form. Ivy obviously knew there was little chance of the game being played. Our game was called off on Friday afternoon so fair play to our opposition albeit a mere 100 miles one way. Top scorer this week being Big Mac with 4 Clap (who knows where he would have been in the league had he not missed 2 weeks) and a usually consistent Spiko123 only getting one Ouch allowing Chipping Man to leap back to the top of the league. While at the other end Stevie Wonder now is shown a red card having not predicted for 5 weeks. However all is not lost for Blub who moves from the bottom spot aided by Surrey Bens lack of prediction again this week and moves within one point Seagulls who failed to make any predictions this week. International duties call at the Principality next week so league may or may not be done on Sunday. So the league looks like this.
Chipping Man  85
Spiko123 84
Sidelined 84
Red Pete 82
Town 80
Trftrf 79
Braders 1875 78
Simba 78
Roman Relic 77
Front Jumper 77
BrixPhil 77
Big Mac 77
NeilSKN 75
Fat Bear 74
Maidsboy  74
Jester 10 73
Seaside Mafia 72
Seagulls 67
Blub 66
SurreyBen 64

Maidsboy-thanks for the comments glad you had a great time at ours,I made the trip to yours few weeks ago likewise and a fantastic game too.If your right and we do win the league best of luck going for the runners up spot and hopefully we will still be locking horns with you next year.

Living in Weston best of luck to Weston as well in their battle to avoid the drop always preferred you over the Hornets.

The game did go ahead however on the new (ish) pitch across the road that they state was also waterlogged yesterday , although with newer drainage it was fit for today.
