After the humdinger of a match between Bournemouth and Nabbot, its Bournemouth who pick up the play off place to see if they can join Dings in Nat2S. The other end of the table is getting really tight with clubs up to 7th not safe but Newbury have 2 tough matches... Anyway, this Saturday we have the following matches to consider for what should be the final round of the season;

Brixham v Weston-super-Mare
Hornets v Cleve
Ivybridge v Dings Crusaders
Lydney v Exmouth
Maidenhead v Camborne
Newton Abbot v Bracknell
Newbury Blues v Bournemouth

Can Maidenhead get a win? Will Bournemouth rest players? Will Exmouth drag themselves up the table? Will Hornets and Lydney finish with a flourish? Lets see....

Cheers CM Smile

Brixham
Cleve
Dings Crusaders
Exmouth
Maidenhead
Newton Abbot
Newbury Blues

I suspect that Bournmouth will give quite a few regulars the week off, but I doubt that Lydney will be strong enough for what should be a very determined Exmouth side.

Its always one of the most difficult weeks to predict and with decent weather forecast, could start the 7's season early... Anyway, here goes;

Brixham v Weston-super-Mare - The Fisherman have been pretty good at home and reckon they'll nick this.
Hornets v Cleve - Hornets may be down but now how to play on their own track.
Ivybridge v Dings Crusaders - Tough one cuz Ivybridge need the win but think Dings will prevail
Lydney v Exmouth - Which Lydney will turn up? If its the one that beat Bournemouth, they could do it.. but..
Maidenhead v Camborne - With Maids only winning 1 of past 7 matches, not sure... but they need it.
Newton Abbot v Bracknell - Nabbot miss out on play off but will pick this one up
Newbury Blues v Bournemouth - Game of the round... if full Lions team picked and I dont think so. (Edit - Having seen the Bournemouth team, changing selection.. Wednesday 18 April)

Brixham
Hornets
Dings Crusaders
Lydney
Maidenhead
Newton Abbot
Bournemouth

Have I just blown the lead? Lets see. Confused

Please be advised, the 1XV game v @cambornerfc this Saturday (21st) is kicking off at 1pm, so we can cheer on the 2nd XV at 3pm in their big derby match against Bracknell. #COYM

Dad, Bracknell have already won the BBO1, so it seems a bit strange to give a dead rubber the top billing? (Watch out that their "Fans" don't bring an airhorn along for when you're kicker is going for goal!)

Anyway, my precitions :

Brixham
Cleve
Dings
Exmouth
Maids
NABS
B'mouth (They'll want to keep the momentum up ahead of the Playoff)
Enjoying life!

Various reasons Jester:

-When we originally planned it, we thought it could be a title decider.
-It’s convenient for Camborne, as they are staying in Swindon on Friday night.
-It gives the 1st XV coaches (and players) an opportunity to watch the 2s lads.
-Finally, and most importantly, we felt it would be a nice thing to do for a young team, who have shown fantastic support for the 1s all year. They will have the 1st XV changing room on Saturday, and will be applauded on by the 1s.

Good call then MaidsBoy. Apparently the Bracknell boy were a tad upset to lose their unbeaten record to Rams IIIs last week and at least a couple blamed "Sir". I wasn't there, but Errant Son played and he reckoned Bracknell just lost the plot. Good luck Saturday, should be a cracking day.

Probably a hang over from what I hear was an equally "combative" game between Bracknell 3's and Ensians 4's the previous week which went the other way but included multiple yellows.

Good to have a lot of competitively equal teams in Berkshire it can only help the standard of rugby - winning or losing 60-0 does nobody any good in the long run.

Agreed. Rams IIIs taken on Witney IIs on Saturday with 4th place to play for. Most games have been fairly tight this season, bodes well for Berkshire rugby.

Hopefully will lead to a strong Berks senior team too- I know lots of work has gone in to preparing the squad, ahead of the upcoming County Championship.

My predictions:

Brixham v Weston-super-Mare- Weston backs were sharp last week, hard ground will suit them. WSM to win.
Hornets v Cleve- dead rubber here, but I think Hornets will be desperate to give their supporters a good performance. Home side to nick it.
Ivybridge v Dings Crusaders- Dings to finish the season in style.
Lydney v Exmouth- Are Exmouth mathematically safe yet? Either way, they’ll be desperate to finish strong, and will no doubt be looking for a push up the table next season.
Maidenhead v Camborne- Maids down to the bare bones on the injury front, but hopefully the patched up side will edge this against an in-form Cherry and Whites team.
Newton Abbot v Bracknell- Newton Abbott should just have enough at home here, but it won’t be a repeat of the game at Lily Hill at the start of the season.
Newbury Blues v Bournemouth- game of the round. I think Bournemouth will want to head into the playoff in good form, and I think they’ll have too much for the Blues.
Weston
Hornets
Dings
Exmouth
Maids
Newton Abbott
Bournemouth

Cheers
