Testing in the gym on Friday for the Albion boys. Team building out in the wilds somewhere over the weekend. All of a week off for those who play County or make the EC tour...

Anyone else back in the shop?
Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

Semi-pro squads such as Fylde's couldn't manage a mid-week day in the gym, or indeed anywhere else other than at their work as teachers, electricians, IT techies, financial advisors or their various other occupations. This is one of a number of schisms between National One clubs. Fylde begins pre-season twice a week evening training on 27th June.

After saying this, our three England Counties U'20s players have enjoyed last week on tour in the Netherlands.

Same for Blackheath don't get back until beginning of July. Although I am quite sure a lot of players will be in the gym for personal reasons (beach body)

Esher start again 22nd June, about the same time as usual. Players need more than a week's break if they are not full-time.

I would have thought all regular players, from the elite internationals who'll contest the Lions series over the next few weeks, through the semi-pro ranks, and those who turn out at league levels 9-12+, would benefit from a break to allow their bodies time to recover... as well as the chance to 're-balance', go on holiday, spend summer weekend time with family & friends etc

I suspect that at whatever level players will take breaks during preseason for holidays, as it's ramping up at first to keep the level of fitness up. Even during the "off season" the players will still be training to keep fit.

They won't be going straight into contact, just more skills and fitness so the players bodies will not be suffering from impact.

Cov got together for a social bonding event over the weekend. Beer, food and karting were involved.
