At lunch today I listened to a number of alacadoos who were discussing the league and the current positions the points made we're that Darlington wouldn't finish top and hull Ionians wouldn't be bottom. A few hours later interesting developments.
Let's open that discussion to the forum who will be top and who will be bottom!
My guess is Coventry top and fylde bottom!
Crack on!

Fylde get well beaten at Brickfields two weeks back, then go on to beat Park the following week. BS run Coventry very close today. "Lowly" OA appear to have had the measure of previously unbeaten DMP throughout and take the spoils.

At this juncture, speculation about top is virtually pointless and regarding bottom, bordering on distasteful.
Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

We are 6 weeks into the season and it's quite common for the second half of the season to be completely different to the first.

We've managed to convert trips up to Fylde into banana skins before, not least last season. No counting chickens here.

I think they had a lot of help from their big brother, in point of fact I think they could well have reached the maxium 10 in the match day squad for this game!

Of the Sarries Academy lads: I believe OAs had Reuben Bird-Tulloch, Danny Cutmore and Sean Reffell starting with Billy Walker and Andy Christie on the bench and and have also used Tadgh McEllroy this season. Joel Kopku is listed as in the OAs squad but does not appear to have played.

Most of the rest of the academy are at Ampthill or Bedford.

Back to the original question - I can't see past Coventry at this early stage for the title.

Much harder to predict at the bottom where Fylde and Hull have shown flashes of form in the last couple of weeks. Can't help feeling Loughborough might face problems this season. Their model with regular academic turnover every year must be very difficult to sustain.

It will be interesting to see how many "guests" will be playing this week with it being the Micky mouse Euro cup!

I don't think Eastern Man is suggesting there is anything wrong or, there has been anything done that is outside of the regulations.
I think Eastern Man is referring to the fact that certain Clubs continue to falsify the strength of the Club by borrowing Premiership or Championship squad players. This creates the issue that the Club is strong one week, then weaker the next, due in part to matters like the B&I Cup weekends, when the higher placed Clubs call their players back.

We therefore have the on going saga that some Clubs never really know who will be playing for them, from one Saturday to the next, and, of course, this makes it difficult for the opposition to plan appropriately. While the current regulations exist, that's life I am afraid.

Facts not InTouch's forte

He posted Broadstreet as having Coventry players on DR when in fact they are Wasps players!

I think whether they had 4 or 14 is irrelevant. Clubs and their ethos are being undermined by this policy. I know its convenient to import a player or export one who needs game time but perhaps its time to have a long, hard look at our game and the way its run.

IMO teams rarely change their style based on who is available but the execution could possibly be different. We have had DRs in the past but each has to be treated individually, some have been excellent and committed to the team others less so. I would much rather see the academy system scrapped as I do not think it works and that money given out to grassroots. I still think that the cream will rise to the top as it does currently. There are very few players who step straight into AP teams without spending time in the Championship and National leagues.
