Makes sense Mike - I'm up for Port v Wilmslow early September. Hopefully a better game than the last time I saw them play.

I guess that, sometime in August, we should start a 2019-2020 thread

BM i am not sure how it can be a source of irratation to raise a question for a team who narrowly avoided relegation to ask what past player would you love to see play in the team at their best and why (based on who we have seen)

(No mention of players dragging us up through the leagues) it is a fan forum after all.

Feel free to comment anything you wish sir

Should have Bigmal! Might have taken attention away from the tired question who is our best player from our past who could single handedly drag us up the leagues that rears its ugly head every couple of months.

Its an absolute joke - like Mike I noted the fixtures a couple of weeks ago and have made travel arrangements based upon the information provided. I will be a very unhappy boy if the information I relied upon subsequently proves to be incorrect.

Which aspect of customer/member service does the RFU not get ?

I'm not sure that there are any other places I can look especially as I have to hold my hands up and acknowledge that my own club's website is sadly lacking.

Mike, yep the new GUI front end seems to enhance the old issues, I'm told work in progress next change around the 11th July, they might have all the fixtures sorted by then!

Was on it today Mike, it's shocking. Maybe they've cut the website budget as well.

I noticed that a few weeks ago the RFU fixtures page had some of our fixtures.
Then the whole website disappeared.
Now there doesn’t seem to be a page for our fixtures.

Any one any idea what on earth is going on and when we might see a full set of fixtures ?

That is a shame - I'm sure all those who engaged with him during his time on this forum will join me in sending our condolences to his family and friends.

RIP indeed.

Thanks for letting us know PP.

Ladies & Gentlemen, sad to report that Griffin - Barry Allen passed away last week suddenly. A new member to this forum he certainly made an impact with his stats, he'll be missed greatly especially at his Club Broughton Park FC.

RIP Barry.

There are some errors in the fixtures shown for North Premier.
There are quite few errors in the North 1 West fixtures as well. Perhaps better to say omissions.
It seems that some fixtures have not been copied across from the Competitions site. The England Rugby site should mirror what is on the Competitions site. It doesn't always do this immediately but gets there eventually.

Strangely the fixtures copy across correctly and in full to the Waterloo website, the Broughton Park website and any club who have an RFU FSI website. It must use a different system?

You are there with the facts G but like the rest of us not acquainted with the logic employed by the RFU.

What is clear is that in N1W ( say) clubs currently in the league have a number of local derbies which help encourage player recruitment and retention given that players are no longer interested in turning out every Sat from Sept to April. The local games also help generate a more consistent revenue stream and provide opportunities to meet old friends/adversaries.

Travel costs are kept to a minimum and even the longer trips ( Kendal for example are manageable.

Unfortunately the current structure creates potential problems particularly for those clubs located close to an adjoining region which means that few clubs moving up/down the pyramid are guaranteed a spot in their local league. Things were not too bad when the RFU supported clubs with travelling expenses but as this support has reduced the no of clubs complaining has increased a situation not helped by the paying of players at this level which quite honestly remains a joke when the average gate is probably less than 100.

In many ways the obvious approach would be to :-

1. Retain the Prem as fully professional albeit with a reduction in the number of imports allowed and also increase teams to 14 to encourage a country wide spread.

2. Set up regional ( say N and S ) second tier ( semi-professional). Promotion ,if appropriate, to be subject to strict guidelines ( ground, budget, sustainability) and probably a play off involving ( say bottom club in Prem, winners of both leagues and best second placed team.

3.Create a third tier ( say NW,NE,E Mids,W Mids,S East and S West ( and possibly London) which could also be semi professional albeit on a more modest scale. Again a play off for promotion would be appropriate.

4. Restructure the "local" leagues with the aim of minimising expenditure whilst still providing the opportunity for ambitious clubs to proceed through the tiers.

If something like this isn't done then I'm afraid the structurevwill continue to fragment.
2. Set up the Championship as
