Sadly for me this is not a great omen for the Championship being played. If the full time clubs in the Championship, where players movements are able to be controlled to a large extent, can only manage one week of matches before a game is called off due to Covid, what chance do the non full time clubs, who have players who go out to work each day in general society, have of keeping the virus at bay. If ,as in this case, it is Saracens who gain no points from a match due to Covid and this prevented them from getting promoted, would they not contest this decision in the courtroom? Or would they, PRL and the RFU allow them to spend a second season in the Championship?

Perhaps someone can confirm - as Saracens mention the suspended players as part of the absentees, I am presuming this meaningless competition counts towards their suspensions?

If so, no wonder Saracens wanted to take part.

I am very surprised that games that are essentially friendliest count! - presumably they will no be suspended for another match as this didn't take place?

My understanding is that the suspensions are for league games and not friendlies
Did all players sanctioned repay their appearance fee?
It only mentioned the circumstances, games bans,
Some charity donations  and community work etc.

You may well be correct, otherwise teams would arrange meaningless friendliest to count to a players suspension.

As it was mentioned as part of the reason for not being able to field a side, I would therefore presume a player is suspended until his team have played x number of league/cup matches.

I’m looking forward to Donny v Ealing as I know lots re Ealing
and nothing with regards to what Donny have been building on the pitch. I think Donny are a sleeping giant and with Yorkshire being the shoe in for relegation last season, they took “a year off”

Although Clive was an excellent coach I think it was more that we had gone stale and very predictable, rather
 than coasting 
Winning isn't everything, it just makes the beer taste better

The term probably fits the likes of Mose or Welsh rather better.

This was covered by Ugo Monye on a podcast this week - apparently to "count" the game can be a friendly, but you have to have an appropriate officiating crew. Seems open to manipulation, but I'd guess he'd know how it worked.

I heard or read somewhere that Saracens in their defence of their players tried to argue friendlies should count. I believe the RFU commended them on their argument, but declined their offer
