Shame they have partied company, spoke with Marshall at length and the re building process at Macc was sounding good with some strong youth coming through.

Not sure who they will get that's better, time will tell i suppose.

They also risk losing some of the squad if they came in under Marshall, and don't want to play regional 3 ?

We played Macc at their place early in the season. I thought the writing was on the wall, even at that early stage in the season. Their Gaffer was giving them a right old talking to because they were taking a breather, our boys were still doing laps in the pouring rain. Wasn't exactly the motivational speech that would get me going, nor did it do the trick for the Macc 1st XV.

I thought with the recruiting they did mid-season it would see them right - even got a few predictions right in the fantasy league - but it wasn't to be.

I'll be sad to see them drop. If nothing else, they have the best pies in the league

Is it all budget related at Macc?

Absolutely, what they have done to Marshall is a shambles.

Was speaking with Marshall and he said they were re building and had to re structured the pay completely.

It was pleasing to see they were promoting youth with a 17 year old Mini and Junior lad starting against us, and that was part of the re building ..... a few star players with youth coming through.

Sure they would have bounced straight back next year, stronger and harder so a shame to see him go.

Not sure they have a plan "B" in place as I know a few people who have applied for the role, so they cant have the successor in yet.

This could cause unrest and lose players loyal to Marshall, but could also bring new players in and a fresh injection .... we are yet to see ...... look at Van Deventer @ Chester who came from Firwood waterloo !!!!!!

Either way I believed in what Marshall was telling me and brought into what he was saying, it is the correct route to making Macc sustainable for years to come.

Just my thoughts

According to their website, Marshall hasn`t been sacked - his contract expires at the ends of April and he wasn`t offered a new one.  That maybe because he was asking for more money?  Maybe he wanted a 3 year deal?  Or maybe he has a better offer at another club so didn`t want to sign?? Or maybe he didn`t like the best pies in the league!!Wink All speculation.

You were the Team Manager at Macc when Marshall asked to be released, or prior to that?
