Sorry LF did you say Tai Topou was deported? Blimey I thought he came from Bury! Does that mean the League lads have left?

Went back to his boyhood club, a move he had been considering for a while I believe. Tupous visa ran out as I understand it. Perhaps Wilburs too?

Muir was playing 10, he's moved to 12, that's been the main difference. He'd never played Union before this season so it was a bit much to start him in such a vital position over established union players. Doing a good job at 12 too

Certainly some league boys have left, something I thought was always on the cards. Sten is bang on regarding Muir, came in as one of the departed coaches players & stuck in at 10...far too much too soon. Since moving to centre's he's been a revelation along with Davidson, they interchange between 12&13 & it seems to be working. Another couple of lads joined up, Rowland's is England deaf scrum half & a back row called Canning who scored on debut last week. Scrivens returning from Fylde is a huge plus for me & is now one of four Lancs U20's at the club. Still plenty to play for in terms of second place, but one game at a time starting with Stockpot on Saturday, which is a double header with the Ladies playing Loughbro afterwards...good afternoon ahead.

Loo recruitment has been in evidence of late.

The bush telegraph suggests funds been made available to add to the squad. Pinch of salt as ever around the figures involved but not insignificant it would appear...

I guess Loo will fancy their chances on Saturday especially as Port struggled to overcome A Kersal last week despite having the boot of McGovern to rely upon.

Its still anyone of 5/6 for second slot though so plenty of twists to come.

If it's the same McGovern that spent the first half of the season here at Hare Lane, then he'll do a good job at 10. Not sure the real reason for his departure but good luck to him at his new club. Brought some much needed accuracy to our kicking.

It's a small world, isn't the lad who played 10 for chester Saturday a former loo player Robbins?
Best keep the penalty count down Saturday.

Small world indeed! I'm pretty sure it's Robbins that has been starting at 10 since McGovern departed. I wasn't at Lucs at the weekend, and our social media updates are sporadic at best, so I can only guess it was him.

Biggest question for me is, why did McGovern leave Chester? One of the best 10's at that level & metronomic kicker!!! Strange if u ask me.

I heard the reason was something close to the player wanting more first team games, but with the club's plan of making all our senior teams more competitive - often to the short-term detriment of the first team - a first team place was not guaranteed, and so he left.

The story fits in with the narrative, but I have no way of knowing if this is the truth. There are a handful of other players that have departed under similar circumstances this season, so you'd imagine there's some truth in there.

Would certainly make sense DD. It's something albeit at a lower level that Loo have had to do this season. We could have a stronger 1st team but have to play boys in the highly competitive 2nd team league. It's always going to upset some.
