Think that's a cert after yesterday barring miracles. Have enjoyed the majority of this season, however consistency has blighted our challenge. Vale were always favorites & so it's proved. Northwich were good value yesterday, probably the best overall team to visit, but we just weren't at the races.

What happens to St B now? Do they have to start much lower rather than drop down to the league below? I obviously don't know the circumstances but it seems a shame to be penalised for not being able to raise a side over the Easter weekend.

Not seen anything else on this site so a bit in the dark TBH.

Bigmal, as we had an upcoming home game with St B's I'd been in touch with their President and Chairman to invite them to a pre-match lunch with us (we routinely cater for 6 opposition alikadoos).
When I heard the news (on here) I sent condolences and have received some information in return. This is the publicly known stuff: -

All results v St B's are wiped from the record.
St B's are demoted one league - they had 7 matches to fit into the remaining weeks left of the season and were already running low on player numbers.
The league (probably sensibly) offered them the choice of finishing the season and accepting demotion.
The extra few weeks they gain (i.e. April) will allow them to start on their grand ground/pitch improvement/community scheme.

cheers

That explains why Loo were 5pts worse off after this weekends round of games!

Seems a bit unfair to just cancel all results against them unless they were removed for cheating or something similar. Makes more sense to me to just keep results & call every game they had left a 5-0

I think there are one or two precedents. Halifax perhaps ? I’m sure I’ve seen this before.

BSMS Medics in Sussex Intermediate withdrew from their league this season and all their results were wiped.

It's much more unfair if you automatically lost out on the chance of a potential play off spot because blackburn had their 5pts guaranteed at the second last game of the season. Now I know you would say statistically that result would be likely but with sport being sport, st b's could have upset them and affected the outcome of the league.

The fairest way is to strike all records.

Looks like an interesting week in this league - can Loo sneak second place or will Wilmslow make a late run to overtake Northwich?

Second place could go to last game with Vale playing Wilmslow on the last Saturday in April ( could this affect the play offs as well?).

Manchester in  a precarious situation and need to beat Wilmslow this week.

Port and Burnage playing for local bragging rights I guess - good luck to Mike GC a regular, reasoned and reliable contributor throughout the season.

All the best to all especially those involved with the play offs - its going to be tough in the league above next season.

You are,of course, correct so please accept my apologies. I was looking at the table and forgetting the demise of St B. Looks like Northwich then although by all accounts they were lucky to beat Port last week.

Would you Adam & eve it, Wilmslow beat the champions Vale to secure 2nd spot & deprive Northwich of the play off vs Driffield. Really is a bonkers league. Very best of luck guys.

Rumour has it that one of the Vale 1st XV had his stag night this weekend, maybe that explains the anomaly
