Poster on another thread suggests that Wilmslow should beat Driffield albeit they both have fairly average records.

Sounds like Mike has put his finger on it but fair play to Wilmslow who have enjoyed a good second half to the season.

Its tough in the league above mind.

Giles is ex-Wilmslow and Macclesfield (until about 18 months ago) Was England junior (18s) coach for a while.

Giles left Macclesfield in December 2017 when the team were struggling in N2N

From the Macclesfield web site

7th December 2017

As part of its regular review of performance and support of the first team squad, the executive committee have taken the decision to re-structure the provision of coaching with immediate effect. Marshall Gadd (current Forwards Coach) will lead the coaching programme for the rest of the season. He will be supported, in this role, by a number of senior players with the explicit target of ensuring that Macclesfield BLUES continues to play its rugby in National 2, North next season.

After four seasons of excellent work, Giles Heagerty will step down – Giles has brought a high degree of professionalism to the coaching and support functions. The executive committee would like to thank Giles for his efforts and wish him every success in his future endeavours.

Sounds promising, will certainly have enough talent to work with in the squad.

Great to see that you're as optimistic as ever LF. Next year will be as tricky as this I suspect.

North 1 is going to be intriguing next season, lots of ambitious sides hoping to make the step up. Northwich must hope ifs their season after recent disappointment, birkenhead park hoping to bounce back up after finding their feet in the latter stages of the season and waterloo desperate to get back up. Who else thinks they belong in the league above.
Interesting that anselmians have gained promotion with former wirral coach mckinney, wirral lost the last ten league games of the season and the rumour is matty cairns is outward bound.
Caldy sevens was a huge success apparently, aided by the hot weather, I dropped my son off there and they'd run out of beer on tap!
I enjoy the waterloo thread, passionate supporters who won't be silenced.

what about Blackburn to they had a good run late on in season.

Will need waterloo backs coach be fetching his own players in and if Louie M joins? just as player or coach also. Have u retained all last year's players? As with run from Christmas was good and did you not recruit then? Will seconds and thirds be back up and running.
Could be strong semi professional league! Or as it's level 6 will they all abide by RFU structure!

Don't open that can of worms yet it's too early.
There must be lots of uni players who'd play for two square meals after training and some beers on a match day though.
Where do they go after colts? How many make the transition to senior rugby, not many I fear and that's the issue the rfu and the clipboards should be
adressing.lots of good grassroots players fall out the game after senior colts , County and even academy I'd guess.
I'll watch out for Blackburn next season now though.

Really really pleased to see big Louis back at 'loo. Cracking player and a fans' favourite.  Hard as nails on the pitch, nice as pie off it.  He always said he would come back one day Clap.   Great to see Gareth Davies coming back in the coaching team too.  Is it too early to start getting excited about next season lol?!
