So it has started again...How do the boys and girls feel? Big spending Luton, (my tip for the league), get off to a romp against bottom of last years table Bedford Athletic. Obviously showing their strength. A high scoring game, with a win for Kenilworth against Luctonians, both teams in the shake up last year. All the promoted teams get off to a great start against travelling opposition. Bromsgove being the pick of the results against the Peterborough/Lithuania Exiles XV. A low scoring game at Kettering, with the blue and whites winning a thriller 8-3, and Hinckley's young side putting Malvern to the sword. How do you all feel about the results? How did the new signings perform? Where do you need to improve? It's too early to call but LUTON look the pick of the crop...any team that can bring in 4 Kiwi signings + others look to be the team to beat

From Ampthill's web site
Quote Director of Rugby Mark Lavery opined that if he'd been offered this score line at breakfast he'd of taken it in both hands, plenty to work on but a good start.

I'll be waiting until the end of September before making any predictions

Yup, me too, although perhaps I'd want to wait until the end of October (especially as one of our key players should be back in the squad by then), the Hereford result against us away has to be a hiccup on our team selection and balance, I've not seen a match report yet to give a definitive comment.

Everyone last season virtually walked over Bedford Athletic, who only maintained level five status due to the RFU League restructuring.

The results seem to generally be following pre-season assessments and predictions, and I've seen Bromsgrove play pre-season and would have to re-assess Peterborough as a weaker side/slow starting this year based on Saturday; but I'd not tip anyone just yet.
