Chinnor involved in another tight game today ..........

Park played with a strong wind in the first half and scored three tries when they got into the red zone, where their forwards look unstoppable. Chinnor did well to keep it to 21-16 at half time thanks in part to indiscipline from Park. With the wind behind them Chinnor, established a 33-21 lead but Park scored against the run of play to bring it back to 33-28. With about 5 minutes to go Chinnor missed a penalty to put the game beyond Parks' reach, and then Park's forwards built some pressure and forced a few penalties. With the last play of the game, and with a penalty advantage, a kick to corner resulted in the winger scoring. 33-33. But the difficult conversion into the wind was missed to leave honour even, but Park took a bonus point.

All but Chinnor's first match of the season have been won by less than 7 points ( or drawn ) with the result being decided by the last play - either a score, or good defence. Even in the game against Plymouth, Albion were pressing for a losing bonus point when an interception gave a more favourable looking result.

Could not believe the second half at Caldy, why did the ref not give yellow card for the head high tackle, why did we keep trying to kick into the strong wind, why leave players on the bench including one of our best defensive players when many were out on their feet.I don’t think we managed the game into the wind you can not try to play expansive just pick and drive like we did in the last 10 min. When we were unlucky not to get the draw. 😢

Great result for Loughborough Students today in the bottom of the table clash with Birmingham Moseley and a much needed 5 points.

Very ill tempered at times, with a YC for each side. However, I am gobsmacked that BM didn’t have more players on the naughty step, with the referee and touch judges missing so many apparent high tackles by BM players. I was also less than impressed when the BM hooker removed a LS player from a ruck with looked distinctly like a neck roll, clearly the TJ in line with the incident deemed otherwise. Maybe I will meet the officials in Specsavers next week when I have my eyes tested?

Some great rugby marred by woeful officiating, a fact highlighted by the BM supporters totally bemused by the YC for what we assume the man in yellow thought was deliberate knock on by LS.

Esher also had an incident involving a head roll where the AR actually came on to the pitch to tell the DMP
player to “let go”. Should have been a penalty to Esher but wasn’t! Lost through I experience and poor game management - again!

This league is really tough this year, with some teams over-achieving and others given the resources they have under-achieving.

LS collectively must sort out their discipline. When they do this a very young and inexperienced LS team, will take the scalps of some big names. Would be great if the standard of officiating was better though with less pedantic focus on setting the scrum and focusing on the tackles in the head area and the neck rolls.

However, I am a realist and realise that this task will not be made any easier as other teams have the option of splashing the cash in attempt to buy their way out of trouble or buy success.

For LS opening their piggy bank is not an option and success will be gained through a combination of desire, ambition and hard graft in the gym / training sessions. It was fantastic to see a very young squad get a great win against BM yesterday. Up the ‘Boro.

31-0 up after 35 mins, and playing some great rugby ( 5 tries, 2 of them for Royley)

Cinders scored just before half-time

2nd half and the wheel came off ….. all credit to Cinderford, though, not many sides come back to win after being so far behind Clap

Not a lot more I can say ……. should take some comfort because of the 2 bonus points , but I can't

That's unbelievable. I was watching score and I thought I'm sure Cinderford are a better team than this.
Turns out they were. That might be a record for a recovery in Nat 1
Did Caldy have the left over Pot Noodles at half time

LS players laughing in the faces of the opposition players would not have helped the situation.
