when Wakefield disbanded there was talk (and to be fair 4 years on - doesnt time fly - it looks increasingly unlikely!) about ressurection or at the very least playing in one of the numerous end of season 1 day 7s/10s/vets tournaments eg sandal ilkley leos to name but 3 or even occassional 15 a side games (venue tba obviously) throughout the season

Could anybody say that this may or may not happen in the next season or so if interest could be drummed up, kit sponsors arranged etc might this be a possibility ?

as a one off (or more) players could be accepted from old players (either Wakefield or Wakefield Cougars), maybe all current wakefield teams and anyone else with a connection to make a wakefield rfc barbarians side or sides !!!
The club could even host their own tournament if a venue eg sandal ? could be found ?

would be interested to hear peoples thoughts

forever optmistic

It would appear that although the post has had over 50 viewings to date no one has felt the need to comment

this would suggest that people viewing are either from other clubs or if there are any wakefield people viewing they have just accepted that the club has died ?

it would be interesting to have any input from anyone still connected to wakefield , the remaining committee men maybe ? or is that it ? are wakefield gone forever ?

forever optimistic

leedsrugbyman,

Does seem strange this hasn't provoked a reaction in 5 days. Have some good memories of Wakefield's last few visits to GR when they were a top 4 team in the league and the band of merry ( and very merry) followers that enjoyed the crackClap.

Nice idea though, hope you get the support.

I was bad news when Wakefield went out of the sport i remember the black & amber shirts. Looking at the state of play today i only hope that Otley do not go the same way.

Gold doesn't show up very well on my screen so I may never ever know what was/is the true colour of the strip.
