It was rumoured towards the end of last season that matt cairns was leaving wirral, he was running a defensive session at caldy tonight is that the case?
Are wirral better or worse off bearing in mind the way they finished the season?

Matt has left Wirral and gone to Caldy. Good luck to him ... Wirral will always owe him a debt of gratitude ... and I'm sure the club will remain close to his heart. It'll be interesting to see who will be the new coach but regardless I enjoy watching this bunch of lads play and although the league form left a lot to be desired after Christmas last year (for which a whole variety of excuses can be made!!) at least they won silverware in the end!!
Roll on September...

Will Wirral be obtaining yet another gobby coach to complement the rest of the club?

I hear they are struggling for a new coach. I believe McKinnon ( Anselmians), C Jones ( Caldy), A Soutar ( Caldy), S Mason (Birkenhead Park), Freeman Payne ( ex Chester, Loo) have all turned them down. I wonder what’s happening?

Not much is happening at all the people we have spoken to are happy at there current clubs and these were only going to add to are support team. Wirral is a good club and have a good support function. What ever happens we have lads that love the club and always give 100%.

If these people were only going to add to the support team then who is head coach? Has, as usually happens a couple of players followed the coach to Caldy?

Wirral advertising for a new head coach on the cheshire website. Leaving it a bit late I'd say with anselmians tapping up their best players.
Tough season lies ahead .

Look it is what it is. Sandal came up from Yorkshire 2 to Nat 2 under Jim Kilfoyles coaching.
At the minute we have lost a few players to higher echelons We will probably struggle again this year but
the lads will come up fro 2nds and the 250 + supporters wil enjoy their rugby and a few beers .
C'est la vie

Having watched Sandals  pre season games with the players they now have and others to return from cricket etc. they could be a far better team than last terms. what they do possess is a great team spirit which I believe is far better than having overpaid super stars.

Looks like they've found someone. Acording to their website and FB page they welcomed coach Darren Hall to the Memorial Ground yesterday.

Left it a bit late but at least they found someone. Any ideas what his background is?

South African ... so to the jackal's point (and to stereotype a little!) hopefully he'll be as 'gobby' as his predecessor!!

Hopefully not the same Darren Hall who's had 6 Clubs in 7 seasons because I would doubt his credibility a tad.......

Absolutely and it's not as if Darren Hall is a common name is it?

Wirral are a strong club with plenty of support for any new coach . The northern Prem is a tough league and he'll need all the support he can get . Craig Harvey at 10 and Rob Pearl at 7 both strong players will ensure they remain competitive during this transition  .
DH may have coached at a few clubs with differing success but Wirral will be fair with him if he makes the effort !!
