Many East Yorkshire rugby followers do have Internet access and can follow what is happening at Hull Ionians by logging into the Club web-site. Every week sees match reports and team announcements posted on the Club web-site but you will know this. Are you not a member of Hull Ionians web-site?

I think anyone local knows that the HDM are fairly unreliable where RU is concerned. What the HDM print and what they receive are seldom the same. Hence the need for an up to date and informative club web-site.

Haven't Hull taken someone on to improve publicity? Why does his remit not extend to publishing the team? I am sure other East Yorkshire rugby followers would be interested to see who is turning out for Hull this season. Local RL followers may also be interested. Think of the possible increase in numbers watching.

All very insular and 'hush hush', isn't it.

Sid James on this club house chat thread, the topic is Yorkshire Cup that you have re-instated why not stay on topic, if you have any issues with HRUFC be it there website or team news just set up a new thread and let us debate it. I question if we would be reading such comments from you if the Hull Ionians team had won Malton & Norton. You will not heed it but my advice is show some dignity.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be.

Ayup,
I have already apologised for moving off topic. I suggest that you don't take matters too seriously and come down from your moral high ground.

And yes, you would have read similar comments from me re: Yorks Cup had we won at Malton. Have you anything relevant to add?

Can we stick to the topic of the Yorkshire Cup and not have another Hull in-fighting thread.
Thank you.

My two pence

Plan for Yorkshire Cup

1/4 finals - 8 top teams who want to enter play the 1/4's on August Bank Holiday (usual last pre season game)

1/2 finals - first break weekend in Nat 1/2 usually November date

Final - Easter weekend - If you have a re arranged game they have usually been played by now

Doesn't extend the season, no midweek games, doesn't interfere with county rugby and dates should help with crowd numbers boosting the coffers

Despite the possibility that your suggestion might mean the exclusion of my club, Hull RUFC, who are tenth in the pecking order of Yorkshire clubs at the moment, I think your idea is worthy of further consideration. It could certainly be the basis of further discussion with possibly more expansion and if some of the higher placed clubs still decided not to enter, as some  very likely may, then my club would not be affected.  Anything would be better than just thirteen clubs in the largest county in England taking part.

These are my opinions only and are not the policy of Hull RUFC, who have played in two county finals, winning one and losing one and who have always entered the county competitions in our short 25-year existence.

A great idea, they could then have the next 8 Yorkshire teams in a plate or shield, then another trophy for each subsequent 8 teams.

Or maybe sperate competions for levels 3 & 4; 5 & 6; 7,8 & 9 and 10 &11.
Rucks and mauls may bust my balls, but whips and chains excite me!!

I count 12 in N1/2/3, but some teams do not enter - maybe spread it to 16 teams, but you will have to find another free weekend meaning four games on top of a busy season for the finalists.

I still think it should be for 2nd teams. At some stage during the cup most teams would have to play their 2nds
If Easter falls late I would not risk injuries if we were in contention for winning the league or play off status IMHO.
