Yogi.
Good luck in the play offs.
Have the rules changed ? It used to be the side with the most wins who took home advantage in the play offs, not points tally. You can get a max 20 whereas Lions could get 21, you have more points I know but that used to be the secondary consideration but you seem sure of the home tie ??

Used to play,
 Thank you your good wishes.
The subject came up yesterday at our players presentation lunch.
We are hoping to get some clarification.
Personally I would think that if a team has more points it would get the home advantage.
It must be judged on the all-round playing record surely?

You'd have thought so, Yogi. It would seem strange effectively to change what rules apply to the League itself, just for the play-offs.

I do have a feeling though that Used to Play might be right. Let's hope Peterborough lose !

Pristine Shorts
I have just checked last years play off between Rossendale an Sheffield.
Ross had 21 wins and 99 points, Sheff had 19 wins and 96 points, so there was no problem.

Go back to 2008-09 when Hull had 18 wins and 36 points (2 points for a win in those days).
Chester had 15 wins and 30 points. Again, no problem, which was why we beat them 40-15!!

When we get clarification I will keep you and Tulip both informed.

I have just spent a few minutes looking at the RFU regulations.

Regulation 13 - Adult competitions
Sub-para 13-2-5 (b) plus sub-sub sections

If both teams finish on the same number of points the home tie is decided on;
a. The number of wins.
b. If equal wins, the number of draws.
c. If still equal the better scoring difference.

Hull have W25 D3 L3 + 464  pts 101
Lions  "    W25 D0 L5 + 368  pts  97
Newport   W24 D0 L6 + 510  pts  92

If Hull win at Rossendale they can amass 106. The most Lions and Newport can amass is 102.

Hull must beat Rossendale, or at least draw with them to get a home play-off with 103 points.

It is still debatable as to whom their opponents might be.

I think I have got it right, if not I  am sure I will soon be put corrected!!

Only the RFU could have cooked something up like this.

If Peterborough win their remaining game they will have Home Advantage in the playoff by the fact that they will have won more games than Hull.
What if the Hokey Kokey really IS what it's all about?

In th playoff section of Regulations it says home advantage is determined by the best playing record.
Then if you go back its points then wins then draws etc. So I would tend to agree with Yogi

Yogi is correct Hopper, Its technically percentage of points achieved first (but as we both play the same number of games, its points), then wins. So its all down to the last regular league game. If Hull win they will have home advantage. If Lions get 5 points we will come second in Mids Prem.
You’ve got to get your first tackle in early, even if it’s late

Hull win Yorkshire Cup by34-7 after leading 13-7 at HT.
Phoenix made  very good fist of it in the first half but Hull's forward power and extra general experience
proved to much for the young side in the second period.
 Well played Phoenix.

I am guessing you rested a few last night - I hope so otherwise you could be in trouble come Saturday

In my opinion Hull are a much better all round team, however we will see on Saturday.

Thatbloke,

Just two or three, plus some very skilful use of the 7 subs allowed in the competition.

We could be in trouble on Saturday?  So could the Lions if they are not on top form!!WinkWink

It should be one hell (Hull) of a game.
