Only 26 games at Level 5 - presuming you were referring to that Level.

25 squad x 26 games x £100 = £65k + National Insurance + Coaching = thick end of £100k

Hopefully YC now realise they are not the major player in Yorkshire and return to being called Leeds. That said Yorkshire should have a Premiership team!
Run with it

Sincerely hope they survive by making this difficult decision. London Welsh kicked the can down the road for to long.

£700k less £400k rental for ground, leaves £300k.  What will happen to the Academy??

You then have to add in physio and their supplies etc - that is a not insignificant amount and that is before you get to travelling costs

From afar it would seem the same was true of the club for the city when they dropped "Leeds" from the name.

A pointless rebrand like that is never going to win you any fans. People from the rest of the county aren't just going to magically start supporting Carnegie just because they now have "Yorkshire" in the name. Besides, they also seemed to have forgotten there are other Yorkshire clubs playing proper rugby at a decent standard.

I would hope the £700k is after paying Rhinos.

If not it would suggest the club generates no money beyond than that given to it by the RFU which I cannot believe is the case.

If it were I would expect RFU to have concerns over the clubs financial stability as per reg 5.2.

And there is the small matter of the county side which is surprisingly called Yorkshire.

Can't believe you can get a Championship player for £2600 per season … that's level 4/5 budget

More like level 6/7 for a number of clubs.

Also a 25 man squad is unlikely to be sufficient, need 22 for a match day squad - 25 only allows for 3 injuries at any time.

I would have thought a squad of 35 as a minimum.

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick there Clieves or is the comment made tongue in cheek??
There's a suggestion in another thread made some weeks ago that Dean Schofield (ex England) now player/coach at Stockport
(Level 6!!) is on £65k and that his wife fund raises for the club so that they have enough money to pay her husband
Can't authenticate but comical if true!!

From the Carnegie post

"Our hope remains that we can restructure our Rugby model for next season, operating within a significantly reduced budget with no liabilities carried over from this season."

Does this wording suggest a little more than reduced funding?  Could a points deduction be on the cards?

I took that to mean financial liabilities, so that any loans outstanding to funders would be written off. But who knows?
That's easy for you to say.

I seem to recall there was talk a while back of them moving to Weetwood. I think something like this (e.g. smaller, more traditional ground), plus reverting back to the Leeds RUFC name, would be a big step forward in rebuilding what must be a massively disillusioned fanbase.

Could being the operative word - however it would be nice to have a statement from Carnegie with regards to is the game on or not - it would be a massive inconvenience for our supporters to have to pay for the hire of a coach, pay our travel subs to get there to find there is no game on.

Hope it is just sensationalist reporting by the Leeds Post (it calls itself the Yorkshire Post but basically only reports on Leeds news and then to placate the plebs the odd story from elsewhere - thus I refuse to buy that paper), if Leeds were not to meet their match obligation I assume there would be a points deduction.
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

Any points deduction would be carried over to next season if it would have no effect in the current one
So, for example, starting the next campaign on -10 or whatever would hinder their chances greatly of staying at Level2

Surely if, and i realise it is a big if, they do not play the match they should be kicked out of the league. The integrity of the Championship is approaching rock bottom. You have Hartpury bringing in 13 different Premiership players at the end of the season to avoid relegation and now you have Yorkshire bringing a load of guys from NZ in on 18 month contracts who win them a number of games so they are not going to be relegated , but then the club reneges on those contracts after the points have been secured. They will be part time next season so put them in a league of part timers ie National One.

No one buys the YP for Rugby Union.

Thatbloke - Why would there be a 1- point deduction.

YC have one choice only IMHO - Get extra money GIFTED (no one would ever lend money based on the accounts.

No money and they should fold - No point putting off the inevitable.
